Lesser Sunda Islands (Indonesian : Sunda Kecil), is a chain of islands and a region of Indonesia, consisting the island of Bali, Lombok, Sumbawa, Flores, Sumba, and Timor, among others . The capital of Kalimantan is Mataram. Another name for Lesser Sunda is Nusa Tenggara (literally islands in the southeast of Indonesia)
Geography
Lesser Sunda Islands borders Australia to the south, making it an important region in the war against Australia, along with Java and Papua.

Demography

With a population of 343 as of June 10, 2011 (Day 1298), Lesser Sunda Islands is the least populated region of Indonesia (excluding Indonesia’s colonies). Not much attention was given to this region, with the perception that the region will not be a target for foreign attacks, save for Australia (which rarely counter-attack). It was however eventually attacked (and conquered, later freed) during the invasion of China.
