Forfeit points (FP), as appears in your profile, are measure of the degree to which you have violated game rules and thus acquired temporary suspension of accounts or warnings. All users start the game with 0.0/5 Forfeit Points. This means 0.0 Forfeit Points out of a possible 5.0 points.
Over time, good behavior will absolve the received Forfeit Points.
However, after receiving 5.0 FP, or more, the user will receive a permanent suspension of its account.
Receiving Forfeit Points
If a citizen violates the eRepublik laws, then they will be penalized, taking into consideration the crime's severity and the citizen's history. If it is a minor, first-time offense, they may receive a warning. However, it the user has broken the law in the past, or has done it so severely, they may receive a suspension, or in some extreme cases, a permanent suspension. Along with these suspensions and warnings, forfeit points are added to a citizen's profile. Forfeit points are a direct result of getting suspended and warnings, and not the other way around.

- If a citizen reaches 5 forfeit points, they will be permanently suspended, but a permanent suspensions may also be given out for extreme violations, even without 5 forfeit points.
Viewing your Forfeit Points
If you have received FP in a form of a suspension or a warning, you will also receive a message from admin which states what rule(s) you broke and if applicable, the quote of whatever you said which broke the rule(s).

Viewing your Total Forfeit Points
You can view the amount of forfeit points you have received by visiting your own profile. However, you may only view the amount of forfeit points you have, and not the amount of forfeit points somebody else has.
Appealing your penalties
If you have received forfeit points, but you believe you have been unfairly penalized, you will have one chance to appeal your penalty.
- Click on the "Law Infringements" button on your profile (see above image).
- Here, you can see all the rules you have broken (see image below).
- As in can see, there is also an appeal link. You may click on it to start writing your appeal.
- Again, you only have one chance, so use it well!
Suspension of accounts
If your account is suspended temporarily or permanently, when you try to log in you will see listed your penalties. Again, you may submit your appeal by pushing the “appeal” button for the penalty you would like to appeal.

Losing Forfeit Points
If a citizen maintains good behavior for two months after they received the forfeit points, then that citizen will automatically have those forfeit points removed. However, this does not apply to permanently suspended citizens.
