Involvement in Irish Politics

Brian Boru's political career has been controversial from the very beginning of his Life.

2008

In 2008, his Irish Republicanism was not popular politically, though he did successfully run for the Dáil under Ireland First and the Irish Socialist Republican Party. It would only be January 2010 before a Republican government was elected in Ireland. He was involved in the fight against the Romanian PTO of August 2008, World War I and the subsequent rebuilding of the country.

2009

2009 was a particularly eventful year for Boru in politics. Under the Starks Hayter Administration, Boru was appointed Minister for Finance and Industry, and was also Chief Advisor on Foreign Affairs. Due to Starks' falling popularity out of a lack of media contact, Boru wielded executive powers nearing equal to the President, negotiating with foreign governments and making finance decisions. The accumulated power was drawn back somewhat under the Aran Tal administration, but he continued to have a large amount of influence throughout the Departments of State. He also remains the only Irish Finance Minister to have published the accounts of the government on a regular basis, and the only Finance Minister to have produced pre-planned budgets.

In September 2009, Brian Boru lost the Presidential election to patton of the Irish Union Party. Instead of handing over the state assets to the new government, Boru launched the Irish coup d'état of September_2009, declaring Ireland a socialist state. He then returned the assets within two hours, and left briefly. The rest of 2009 was spent opposing the IUP counter-revolution, which destroyed the Irish political left for three months. He founded The Labour Party at the end of 2009.

2010

In early 2010, Boru left to support the 2nd Russian Revolution, a period in Russia where the Communist Party - Soviet Union held great economic and political power, but returned in February to support Labour, which was growing strongly under the leadership of Irishbhoy1967. He served as Minister for Foreign Affairs in March, his first political appointment since the September Coup.

Boru also ran as a token candidate for Labour in June, as Labour had a policy of only supporting their own candidates at the time.

Irish Volunteer Force

Brian Boru was the Chief of staff of the Irish Volunteer Force, the primary organisation agitating for a United Ireland in the New World from 2008 until early 2010.
