The royal houses
The Monarchy of the Philippines (Filipino: Monarkiya ng Pilipinas), commonly referred to as the Philippine monarchy, is the constitutional monarchy of the Philippines. The monarchy comprises the reigning monarch, their family, and the members of the Houses of Luzon, Palawan, Visayas, Mindanao. The current monarch is King Boy Pick Up.
A royal house consists of at least one, but usually more monarchs who are regionally related to one another. Monarchs who are not regionally related to one another are usually deemed to belong to different houses, and each house is designated by a regional name which distinguishes it from other houses. A royal house consists of a head, represented by a Grand Duke or Duchess. Though, most members of each of the royal houses are non-hereditary related, all are considered part of the entire monarchic family.
+

Once a person is bestowed royal position, through a recommendation by a royal house and approval by the reigning King or Queen, he is then assigned to a royal house. A rule has been established that once a monarch is accepted as a member of a royal house, he or she cannot transfer to the other royal houses.

History

Sultanate of Mindanao and Sulu

On 17 April 2009, Minister of Internal Affairs and Ambassador of the Philippines to Japan Ariel David Buena, a staunch advocate for the establishment of a monarchy in the Philippines, proclaimed Prince Terence I as Paduka Maulana Mahasari Sharif Sultan Hashem Abu Bakr of Mindanao and Sulu after a two-day national referendum.[1] Two weeks later, Prince Terence I formally addressed the public when he announced the adopted members of his royal family, the formation of the Royal Pintados, and the conferment of knighthood to Filipinos with valuable contributions to Mindanao and Sulu.[2]

Prince Terence I passed away on 12 September 2009 after being permanently banned. In the same day, Prince Terence II was proclaimed as new Sultan of Mindanao and Sulu. On 8 February 2010, EZEX Lacroa, second adopted son of Prince Terence I, contested the legitimacy of Prince Terence II and asserted that Prince Terence I's first adopted son Ariel David Buena was the rightful monarch.[3] Communist rebels led by Comrade Joe took advantage of the turmoil in the royal family by starting a civil war in Mindanao.[4] Ariel David Buena relinquished any claim to the throne two days later,[5] but the insurgency had already spread throughout the region with supporters in major Philippine cities.[6][7] The civil war ended on 11 February 2010 with the Fall of Butuan City. A peace treaty was signed between the government and the rebels, and the Autonomous Region of the People's Mindanao replaced the Sultanate of Mindanao and Sulu.[8]
