History
Formation 1 January 2008

The Canadian Paradox Party is a political party in Canada. It was founded on 1 January 2008 by Tom Hagen, and it has gone on to set long standing records for both consecutive Presidencies and most Presidents for a party. Following the Hagen Presidency of December 2008 the party was temporarily dissolved and replaced by the Canadian Confederate Front. This arrangement was not to last and on the 16 March 2009 the party was returned to its roots by a long time member, Cesar Augustus. Following this the party would be resurgent under both Augustus' and Hagen's leadership leading to a 4-term Presidency for CPP Member Jacobi. It was during Jacobi's third term that disaster would strike and Ontario would be captured. With the capture of the capital the CPP lost its ingame headquarters and would become forum based for the time being. The current Party President is GaiusJuliusCaesar00.

Mission

The Canadian Paradox Party (CPP) is still guided by its founding principles as laid down on January 1st, 2008. These principles of comradeship, respect and honor guide any and all decisions that the Canadian Paradox Party (CPP) has to make.

In accordance with these principles the Canadian Paradox Party (CPP) is committed to ensuring that every citizen of eCanada, whether they are a long term member or new citizen, is treated with the same respect and dignity that they rightly deserve.

The three main goals of the Canadian Paradox Party (CPP) are as follows:

  1. That all Canadians whether young or old are treated equally in all dealings.
  2. That Canada will be safe from foreign interference or takeover however it may occur.
  3. That all Canadians will prosper in a Canada led by the Canadian Paradox party.

Onwards Paradoxia! Onwards eCanada!

Party History

The history of the CPP begins on the forums of the strategy game creator Paradox Interactive, where it was decided that companies and a party would be created to house those forum members (known as Paradoxians across the internet), who joined the game. The priority was put towards creating a food company and as such plans for a party were put on hold. These plans would come into fruition on the 1 January 2008 when the Canadian Paradox Party, founded by Prussian King (who would later become Tom Hagen) would come into being. Although the creation would be too late to gain the presidency in January, the speed with which the party overtook the Canadian Workers League as the largest party in Canada showed that it would become a force to be reckoned with. This publicity would lead to a snowball effect which would eventually propel the party into the Presidency.

The Faltnor Presidency

The support that had been building since the party's inception came to a head in the March Presidential election when two term President Grapez would be defeated by the CPP's Candidate, Faltnor. Faltnor had not had the most impressive starts to life in eCanada having only managed a runner up position in the February party election before a sabbatical by Prussian King, the very man who had defeated him in the party election gave him a run at the top position.

Under Faltnor eCanada would be drawn into a war against its southern neighbour, the USA, due to perceived inactivity on his part. Although this war would be disastrous it would also lead to the creation of a cabinet system that is still used by the current government in exile. Upon securing peace with his counterpart in the US Presidency, Nave, Faltnor would be vilified for what was seen to be as lienient terms. However, what is not considered at this point is the damage the war had wrought upon the Canadian economy. This damage would take the entirety of his successor's term to begin to rectify.

The Braham Presidency

Following Faltnor's resignation from the party presidency, the party would go through a succession of interim leaders before the leadership would fall to Derick Braham. Braham would go onto secure a third presidential term for the party and would lead the economic fightback from the damage of the war. In doing so Braham would secure himself a place in Canada's heart and would be revered as one of its greatest Presidents. However, this legacy would be slightly tarnished in the manner in which he handed the leadership over.

The Summer of Stagnation

With merely hours before the July Presidential election, Braham would cause the CPP membership to become exasperated as he resigned leaving his, unwilling, successor Prussian King with mere hours to piece together both a platform and a campaign. In the circumstances King pulled out an incredible result as he still managed to garner 56 votes in the election. King would allow the post-election buzz to subside before handing the presidency on.

Over the course of the next two months the CPP would have no less than 3 leaders in with only one of these, Tinnerholm being elected to the role. It would take until the return of Prussian King, now reborn as Tom Hagen, for a semblance of stability to return to the party. However, he chose not to stand for election in september and instead the leadership was passed to his long time friend and fellow Paradoxian, kommie. kommie would provide much needed stability to the party throughout September and October and upon the completion of his presidency the CPP was firmly on the up.

The Hagen Presidency

Following the completion of his time in the Triumvirate, Tom Hagen would reclaim the CPP Presidency and would push the party back towards the heights it had occupied under Faltnor and Braham. This would result in the capture of the Presidency in the December Presidential election.

However, Canada would be drawn back into war, with France and its allies in PEACE, and this, combined with dwindling activity, would lead to Hagen's impeachment. With this impeachment the CPP would fall out of the top 3 parties(in terms of membership) for the first time in its history and Hagen's replacement, Derakor would destroy his legacy by dissolving the party and announcing it as the Canadian Confederate Front.

The Reformation

With support for the CCF tumbling, a former member, Cesar Augustus secured support from the Royal Feudalist Party, who at the time housed founder Tom Hagen, and took over the CCF. He would proceed to undo the damage wrought by the dissolution and returned the party to its CPP roots. This would lead to a host of CPP members returning including Hagen.

However, Augustus would leave the party after only half a term and it would once again fall to Tom Hagen to steady the rocky ship. This he would manage over the next two and a half terms before handing the reins back to Augustus for a term. During this time Hagen would place a CPP canadiate back in the Canadian Presidency, in the form of Jacobi thereby helping to restore some of the party's former glory.

The Battle of Ontario

Many CPP members would fight on the front lines during the Invasion of North America including William Duncan and Sir DeLaShaunRon Smith. However, these efforts were in vain as the Canadian Armed Forces were defeated on every battlefield. In time Canada was reduced to its captial and the immediate environs thereof. Whilst a valiant defence was mounted (forcing a battle into overtime for the first time of the war) the battle was ultimately lost and with it the ingame headquarters of the party was destroyed.
