Naming

Please see the discussion in talk:World War V to see the evolution of naming the wars involved in WWV. I wanted to include Italy, Germany, France, Spain under ONE invasion of Western Europe but someone started Third Spain-France War, so the naming has been more broken apart - unfortunately. I don't have a preference on the name of the Italy campaign, but it was not a joint attack at first. FYROM attacked. Slovenia set back then attacked Croatia, then got in on the Italy action in the end. And they are not officially part of ONE, so the current title is misleading, despite that they are allied. I can see some ONE members not agreeing, but if you are going the "ONE invasion" route then shouldn't 3SP-FR should follow that naming too? Still though, it technically is not officially "ONE" anything and some of that alliance might not appreciate it and could cause misunderstandings for readers. Thats why I separated Italy out on the WWV and just addressed it individually as initial attacker vs. defender, because there is no joint war naming in the MoS. --Icon-USA.png Citizen 6  Ribbon addition - Silver Award Star.png Talk   16:19, 6 April 2011 (UTC)

Spain (ONE full member) isn't supporting Slovenia/MKD in their war against Italy. Other thing, I don't know why it should be ONE invasion of Western Europe as there were more Terra countries than ONE countries involved in the war. ||||||Khebit TC| 16:37, 6 April 2011 (UTC)
Poland (a ONE state) invaded Western Europe (Germany), so therefore ... ONE Invasion of Western Europe. But at this point I'd really just like to get the War more coverage on the wiki, so if going with "battlefield country" names is the easiest way to do it, then a'right. Wish there more sexy names, but maybe these will come later and we will just redirect. --Icon-USA.png Citizen 6  Ribbon addition - Silver Award Star.png Talk   16:48, 6 April 2011 (UTC)

Do you have a better idea for the name of the war? Just FYROM-Italy war is correct, because of Slovenia's involvement. Perhaps something neutral like Apennine War or Conquest of Italy? Icon-Bulgaria.png V3n0M93 | Talk 16:54, 6 April 2011 (UTC)

those sound pretty sexy. Has Italy ever been conquered before? If not, then that'll work for sure. But Apennine sounds pretty coo too. Either one, if I was vote. --Icon-USA.png Citizen 6  Ribbon addition - Silver Award Star.png Talk   16:59, 6 April 2011 (UTC)
I think one time Slovenia conqered many of Italy's regions and themn Italy managed to get them back in one day by many RW. However I am not completely sure if this is true because I don't remmember very well and I couldn't find any articles for it. Icon-Bulgaria.png V3n0M93 | Talk 17:13, 6 April 2011 (UTC)
Maybe you are talking about Italy swapping Slovenia to Rhone Alps? --Icon-Poland.png Grzechooo drop a line 17:17, 6 April 2011 (UTC)
Then I'd say go with your gut on the name, unless someone objects to either. Both sound p cool if you ask me! --Icon-USA.png Citizen 6  Ribbon addition - Silver Award Star.png Talk   17:20, 6 April 2011 (UTC)
Slovenia almost conquered the north half of Italy (in February 2011?) but Spanish Armed Forces opened 13 RWs and won them all (LOL) (will deliver source asap if you want). Apennine War? Do like, but I would go for: Adriatic War as it started with Italy attacking Montenegro (friend of FYROM), and involves Slovenia and Italy (countries with border with the Adriatic sea). ||||||Khebit TC| 17:22, 6 April 2011 (UTC)
I like the Adriatic War. If no one objects, I will change it to Adriatic War.Icon-Bulgaria.png V3n0M93 | Talk 18:19, 6 April 2011 (UTC)
I like "Apennines War". "Adriatic War" is all right with me too... I prefer anything instead of the boring NAME_ATTACKER-NAME_DEFENDER naming usage for wars. --Belea2008 18:23, 6 April 2011 (UTC)
+1 for Adriatic War, per V3n0M93's gut. --Icon-USA.png Citizen 6  Ribbon addition - Silver Award Star.png Talk   18:28, 6 April 2011 (UTC)
