History of the USWP
The First Generation: The Founders
The United States Worker’s Party was created on or around December 21st, 2007. Its early ideas were centered on raising worker’s rights in the eUSA, focused mainly on minimum wage and unemployment. The January 1st national elections yielded 5 congressional seats for the party. After this, it fell into inactivity for a number of months.
The months of February, March, and April saw very little voice from the party, which was struggling with inactive leadership. This would all change with the party elections in June.
Reform and Reconstruction
Dasanchez won the party elections in June 2008, but after the local elections, he stepped down and Roby_Petric, a European immigrant to the eUSA, was appointed to the party presidency. He immediately began asking the members of the USWP what they believed the party should stand for. The June local elections ended with the USWP gaining 3 mayoral seats, including a sweeping victory for Petric in New Hampshire, a USWP stronghold at the time.
A new strategy was proposed, focused on raising activity, spreading the word about the coming national elections, integrating new immigrants, and educating new members. Roby created the party’s first SO fund, the USWP Hand to Hand Fund, which is still operation today. It serves as the party’s main charity and funding organization. In times of war it is used to send gifts to our soldiers. In times of peace it is used to gift party members with low wellness and pay employee’s in the party’s programs.
Peter Green proposed the creation of a party owned company around this time as well, and USWP’s Food Made by Hand was created to employ party members and act as a training company. Though it once sold some of the most affordable Q1 food in the nation it is no longer in operation today.
The USWP membership grew quickly, eventually unseating the dead and inactive Power International Party and taking the position as the 5th largest party in the eUSA.
Preparations were made for July 1st, the party forums were created, members were informed. Roby_petric publicly endorsed then US President Dishmcds for reelection. The day came around, and the USWP gave a strong showing. Even though it was significantly smaller than the DeP it actually defeated them by one vote in congressional elections. It gained 5 seats in congress. A significant victory given it had been very weak and inactive less than a month earlier. Preparations began for the month of July, which would bring great prosperity to the USWP.
July: The First Half
The month began with a strongly reinvigorated party, excited at the surprising showing in the elections. Shortly after the elections the USWP released the July Platform, the first official statement on its political goals and views. It showed a centrist party focused on activity, government accountability, worker’s rights, and self sufficiency. This contradicted many people’s belief that the USWP was a communist party, a stereotype that had existed for months, one that USWP members were determined to break.
Roby was reelected party president by a wide margin, but quickly found his workload IRL to be to much. He appointed Peter Green as the new president. Peter quickly followed up with Roby’s intentions to create a working National Committee to run the party. He helped develop this while still managing USWP’s Food Made by Hand.
However a couple weeks later, Roby quietly returned and re-assumed his party leader seat. Peter Green was upset by the quick changes in power and left the party to begin the U.S. Green Party. He took with him the USWP Food Made by Hand company, and other miscellaneous funds. Despite this issue the USWP stormed ahead and under Roby's leadership the USWP recruitment office was created, and the member Psychokilled was appointed as its head, later madman50770 took this role after Psycho was appointed to higher positions. An organized system was created, and the USWP began recruiting new members rapidly under the direction of Psychokilled who was a pioneer in recruitment. The great size of the USWP today can be attributed to the work by Psychokilled. An IRC channel was also established around this time, and the high ranking party members discuss plans and strategy here. It is open to the general populace. Its often said ideas are discussed and worked out in the forums, but born in the IRC.
The only real failure of the USWP during this month was local elections. The party made the mistake of starting too late, and as such they only won in three states. In two of these states they ran unopposed. After this failure, they kicked into overdrive.
July: The Revolution
Recruitment skyrocketed, and many ideas were born. USWP members began taking major roles in national programs, and made a pledge to become at least the 3rd largest party in the eUSA before August. The party began reorienting itself as a place for new members to come, be welcomed, and learn about eRepublik.
Membership was rising at an extraordinary rate. 50-60 members a day. In a very short time, the USWP became the 4th largest, then 3rd, and finally it became the 2nd largest party, just days before the elections. The Party publicly endorsed Archibald for president. A day before the elections, the USWP sent out PMs to all its members, reminding them to vote. Activity and excitement for the party were at a high, and they were prepared for a great victory.
The Second Generation: The Demise of Beta
The elections in August were a great success for the USWP. They soundly defeated the bottom three parties in congressional elections with wide margins, gaining 24.80% of the vote, less than 3% behind the Libertarian Party, despite them having over 100 more members. They gained 9 seats in congress. They were finally recognized as a major player in eAmerican politics.
Archibald also won the presidential elections. Justinious, his opponent, acknowledged in a later press release that he believed the USWP’s endorsement played a major role in this victory. The USWP was very proud of itself, and continued to recruit and help new members out. The cabinet was shuffled slightly, as members moved to higher national positions. The first USWP National Convention was held on August 12th, in the IRC chatroom. It served as a place for the leadership to discuss its intentions for the future and answer questions posed by members. The Convention also served as a time for new ideas to be presented and for USWP members to meet their leadership.
Roby Petric announced suddenly that he was stepping down as President, and appointing the somewhat new member Peregrine as his successor. Peregrine immediately began reforming the organization of the USWP, and changing the forums drastically.
The August local elections saw the USWP gaining 9 seats. The party had expected a better result this time around, given the strong congressional showings.
Membership continued to grow. During this time however, a number of high ranking party members left. Aubra Elvie left the party. While his reasoning was unknown at first, he began attacking the party for "noob harboring" in later news releases.
As the September general elections neared, Peregrine announced the party would be endorsing Archibald for a second term. Kronas, announced he would be supporting Justinious' presidential run via a forum post. There was a controversial argument on the forums about this, and whether it was right of him to use the official USWP forums to endorse a candidate the party did not support.
Kokach, then general of the National Guard, relieved Kronas of his position. His reasoning was that Kronas stated his rank and role in the Guard in his official endorsement of Justinious. Kokach believed this was using his rank for political gain. NSC Director, BuzzytheCat supported Kokack's decision.
Kronas left the party, stating he had no problems with the bulk of the party, just Kokach. He joined the UCP shortly after. He is believed to have brought USWP style organization to the UCP, as well as create a party forum for them.
The ironic thing was that, after this mess, it was reveled Archibald was not even running. After an argument in the USWP about how to choose who to endorse, the party chose to issue an "unofficial" endorsement of Justinious.
September: The PAC
The USWP won the September congressional elections, despite being smaller than the Libertarian party. Although, Justinious did not win the presidency, Immunogenic did. Many blamed the USWP's weak endorsement. They stated to their members that they should make their own choice, but it was suggested they vote either Justinious or Peregrine, despite Peregrine not running. Peregrine received a large number of votes.
There was alot of anger within the USWP after it was realized that Emerick tried to pin Operation Eagle Strike on the USWP.
As the party elections came, Peregrine won with a large majority. The second USWP national convention focused on local elections and future presidential aspirations. Roby Petric announced that either he or Peregrine would be running for President in October, as it was the USWP's goal to run a national candidate. During the convention Peregrine also announced his Team ideas. USWP Teams sorted out the massive number of new players coming into the party and put them under the leadership of Team Leads. Team Leads were then charged with messaging and assisting new players in the game. This idea, though very ingenuitive, ultimately failed because of the large influx of new players daily.
The USWP PAC was formed to help with local election campaigns. McGivey was put in charge. The September local elections, which were the last in eRepublik, saw a massive change in the US mayoral map. The USWP won 19 seats, the largest of any party. This was greeted as a great achievement within the party and was attributed to McGivey's excellent leadership of the PAC.
The party began working on a comprehensive new platform as well.
As late september came around, it was realized that Immunogenic would not be running for a second term. The party began asking if it would actually run any candidates. Roby announced he would be running for President of the United States via the forum. It was made public a few days later, along with an extensive political platform.
Two nights before the General Election, the USWP surpassed the Libertarian party in terms of membership, and became the largest party in the USA for the first time. This was attributed to USWP growth, and Libertarian backlash from the Martin Sunter-Ikenstein scandal associated with Operation Eagle Strike.
October: Short Lived Victory
Roby Petric won the Presidency by a wide margin, which many considered an upset. The USWP gained 34% of congress. This was met by much criticism by Emerick, Daphne Lilac, and TheSupernatural, that the USWP simply used party-line voting to its advantage, and most members were two-clicking zombies. Members fought back fiercely, eventually embracing the zombie label in an attempt to turn its meaning around. Internally, the easy win could be connected with relatively new practices of PM Banking. Under McGivey and the PAC's direction members gathered in IRC to PM everyone in the USWP. This practice was created by McGivey and lives on to this day.
The USWP praised Petric's decisions to expand the government to include as many people as possible, and were very excited that they had the presidency. Petric kept his bipartisan promise, appointing only two USWP members to national department heads. Lukasz Makowski to Secretary of State, and Rocco Baldelli to FBI Director.
On the eve of the release of V1 though, Roby announced he was quitting eRepublik because he disliked V1. This disappointed many USWP members, and fueled the criticism of the party. Acting President ThisGenMedia appointed Peregrine as Vice President of the USA, which helped to raise USWP morale somewhat.
During this time period the USWP saw the creation of a new forum. Peregrine initiated the new, more modern forums and with the help of Jordan Miller designated new forum topics, which saw the elimination of the Teams, originally created by Peregrine. Also in late October the USWP Constitution was written by Lukasz Makowski, with the help of ProggyPop, and it passed the Executive Board unanimously.
November: A Founder's Funeral
November brought some additional change to the USWP. Peregrine, party president at the time, resigned his position on November 9th, making Rocco Baldelli the party president. Peregrine’s resignation was due to him joining INGSOC, also referred to as The Party, and disappearing in South Africa. Along with his disappearance, Chimichonga Barbarosa and Yipsee Fooks also went inactive and thus were removed from the USWP Executive Board by petitions from the USWP membership. Whether they were involved in INGSOC is not clear, though they claim to have no connection whatsoever with INGSOC.
Roby Petric’s funeral was also held in November in the USWP forums under the direction of Lukasz Makowski. It was met with lots of outreach by many USWP members and non-members alike, which included former US Presidents, cabinet members, congressmen and party presidents.
On November 15th Lukasz Makowski was chosen as the next party president in a 4 way election, gaining 62.22% of the vote. With the support of the Executive Board, he made some changes to the forums and appointed a strong Executive Board. His focus was the organizational aspect of the USWP, keeping the party working smoothly while managing over 800 members at that time, which made USWP the largest in the USA and 3rd largest in the eWorld.
Official grievances were filed against the party president, Lukasz Makowski by GoBucks in late November. GoBucks and some fellow party members were disappointed with what they believed to be a generally inactive Party Leadership. According to the USWP Constitution, the Executive Board reviewed them and found no wrongdoing. The grievances were dismissed after being heard by all appropriate parties. Afterwards, party activity increased and a Party Convention was held.
In late November, some USWP members began calling on the USWP forums to close down and not be accessible to non-USWP members because of certain information being used by other parties. This was met with criticism from the party president, Lukasz Makowski, as well as the Executive Board. In the decision, the leadership decided that the forums would remain open to all, thus promoting fairness and transparency in the party’s actions. The decision was final at the time and USWP members as well as non-USWP members are able to post in the Wellness Center to find a gifting “buddy” as well as browse through much of the forums.
The USWP did fine in the congressional elections, again attaining over 30% of the seats with the new congressional system in place. There were some serious issues with the system itself, where some party members were unable to get on the ballot in some states.
The USWP, after much debate and hesitation, decided that it would support Benn Dover for another term as the US President. The endorsement came out about two days before the election and put Benn Dover on the ballot at the last minute. Benn Dover won a landslide victory.
December: Anti-War Effort and Changes in the PAC
In December, Lukasz Makowski declared that he would not be seeking another term as party president. At that time it was known that GoBucks was seeking a seat as the next party president. Rocco Baldelli decided to step in to the race a week before elections. The party supported both candidates to the seat, but in the end Rocco Baldelli was able to attain the party presidency on December 16, with 56.51% (204) of the vote and GoBucks managed to attain 32.41% (117 votes), in a seven way election. On December 17, Lukasz Makowski helped bring national power back to the USWP by being in the highest position on a Federal level since the times of Roby Petric, he was picked by Benn Dover to be Chief of Staff.
After Rocco Baldelli took over the party presidency he wrote an anti-war article, accusing the current president Benn Dover of mismanaging the war effort. This was met with strong support and criticism from both sides of America’s society. Many accused the USWP of collaborating with the French government and treason. Calls for the USWP to be banned were amongst the many comments published by high ranking politicians in USA. On the other hand, those who supported this move claimed that the war was unjust, as it did not fulfill the intended purpose of liberating Switzerland from France. They saw it as a war that spiraled America in to an economical problem.
Both sides were calmed soon, as articles of peaceful nature came out, neutralizing the arguments of both sides. Though both sides were still debating, the situation was calmed.
During December minor changes took place in the USWP. The biggest change was Lukasz Makowski's idea to introduce regions to the PAC. He decided it would ease the stress on the PAC Director to have multiple Co-Directors to assist in campaigning and finding candidates for Congress seats. Under the direction of GoBucks, the PAC Director at the time, a new system using four regions and four regional directors was introduced. The changes led the USWP to attempt its first 51 state campaign. The PAC and the USWP E.B., for the first time, endorsed candidates in nearly all 51 regions of the US, in what came to be known as the USWP Christmas Day Congress. Also during December GoBucks initiated a Happy Holidays From The USWP Campaign. Thanks to generous donations from Jordan Miller, AidenAstrup, Scrabman, and GoBucks, participants in the campaign were given ten dollars each, plus a few earned big prizes like a house and other items. Also, notable in December, ProggyPop returned after settling Real Life issues and became the party Chief of Staff.
The Third Generation: eRepublik V1
January: The Coming of Scrabman
On December 28, 2008, thirteen days after the party president elections, the party president Rocco Baldelli resigned from his presidency on the USWP forums, citing personal and family real life issues. He resigned the party presidency on eRepublik also, making Jordan Miller party president by default because of highest number of experience points, on eRepublik only. According to the USWP Constitution, the USWP Chief of Staff becomes the temporary party president in this situation, until new elections will be held, thus making the new temporary party president of USWP, ProggyPop.
In late December, ProggyPop held elections to fill the vacancy left behind Rocco Baldelli. The winner of these elections was Scrabman, who was the USWP's Legal Department Director at the time. He gained much support from his fellow party members and on January 3rd, 2009 was announced party president of USWP. In his acceptance speech, he specified that he would still hold the position of the Legal Director.
During the months of January and December the USWP became increasingly close with America's Advancement Party and Uncle Sam. The USWP E.B. decided to support UncleSam as he had chosen GoBucks to be his Vice-President. On election day UncleSam and GoBucks ended up in second place despite third place candidate Desert Falcon resigning mid-day and throwing his support to the UncleSam ticket. Justinious managed to secure the presidency. Some cite the failure to be fault of Ron Paul who sent out hundreds of false messages stating that Uncle Sam was not the USWP Candidate and that Scrabman wanted Justinious to win.
In January, with Justinious as president, several USWP members were granted positions on the Federal Cabinet. ProggyPop, Scrabman, GoBucks, and Lukasz Makowski were all awarded Cabinet Positions and the US was once again beginning to gain power and respect on the national level. The USWP held more cabinet positions than any other party, a sign of the USWP's size and power. In Congress the USWP was also gaining power, led by Ananias and his support of the CTPA.
That January set a USWP record for the number of seats, 17. Little did the USWP members know at the time that their power would continue to grow. With holding of 35% of Congress and close alliances with the AAP the USWP was able to appoint and vote for ProggyPop to be the first Speaker of the House of the U.S.
At the end of January the eUS saw one of the biggest scandals in its history. The eUS Forums were redirected to a YouTube Video and the Federal Reserve was hacked for the first time.
During this time, some other long time members of the USWP announced their retirement. Jordan Miller announced that he would be stepping aside from the position of Communications Department Director. In his place, he suggested Inwegen who was officially selected as his replacement. The second retirement announcement came from Lukasz Makowski who was serving as the Business Affairs Department Director at the time. It was announced unanimously that AidenAstrup would take his place in the Business Affairs. Due to the retirement of some long term USWP members, GoBucks decided to begin to expand the Executive Board of the USWP to include a new position of Emeritus Executive Board member, which would act as an advisory position to the actual board.
February: ProggyPop Begins His Reign
February saw lots of new ideas for the USWP and the nation. Fallout from the scandal in late January was ongoing and little could be do to subdue the hysteria that ensued for a short time. Luckily, the USWP was not effected by the scandal and was doing just fine.
In the Party President elections that month, ProggyPop was elected Party President and chose GoBucks to be Chief of Staff. AidenAstrup began the USWP's first and only program to outreach to businesses. In its height the program helped over five businesses and 50 employees in maintaining high wellness and productivity levels. Though the program did not last long it was a great one and made possible by the tremendous efforts and dedication of AidenAstrup.
ProggyPop also began to expand party leadership by filling vacancies and encouraging the Executive Board to enlist larger Executive Staffs. Proggy managed to fill all E.B. positions with active and intelligent members. ProggyPop encouraged all members with increased knowledge to begin posting more article and become vocal. Most specifically he cited Ananias for economics and Inwegen for Foreign Affairs. Ironically, both eventually reached the top position for their respective skill. ProggyPop also made great efforts in getting more USWP members to the forums and involved with the party. Towards the end of February plans for another USWP Convention were made.
March: Another Convention and the Rise of the Scrab
The beginning of March was filled with intense campaigning for Scrabman. Despite thousands of PMs being sent and plenty of articles published Scrab lost the race by 300 votes. After his loss efforts in the USWP were focused on developing a new, comprehensive Party Platform. Though a lot of time and effort was put into this mission to this day no Party Platform has been released.
A big crisis evolved in America when Uncle Sam attacked Mexico with little input from Congress and without informing Atlantis, a major violation of the Atlantis treaty that could cost the US lots of gold. ProggyPop noticed the general discontent with invading Mexico, other decisions regarding military funding and the decision of Joe DaSmoe to resign so he, ProggyPop, decided to impeach Uncle Sam. The impeachment was a bipartisan effort with the CvP and Federalist also openly supporting the impeachment. In the end Sam was impeached.
Scrabman was automatically given the eUS President position after Sam was impeached because of his second place in the recent Presidential Elections. Upon his gaining of the position Scrab wasted no time in addressing the concerns of the American People. He released a speech which addressed the problems of, transparency and accountability, military funding and the creation of a federal budget.
The Fourth Generation: The Scrab/Ananias Era
April: The USWP Rise to Power
Scrabman quickly integrated himself as the president pro-tem and made changes to the cabinet. His cabinet was met with much criticism initially because it mainly consisted of USWP members. Despite this Scrab managed to run for president and win by the biggest margin in eUS history, winning with over 600 votes. He took off as President and represented the USWP well. His story is now one of eUS history, though much could be said about his reign.
Internally, the party was facing activity issues in April. GoBucks had fallen inactive and did not sign on for over a week due to computer issues. Luckily, Ian John Locke IV was searching for a new party and quickly became integrated as the USWP's new Chief of Staff. April also saw the rising of another star, Harrison Richardson who began his term on E.B. by starting a party survey.
ProggyPop decided his reign was reaching an end. He had increased efforts to convince more party members to become active and join the forums. Now he was focusing on Real Life issues and needed to hand over the reigns. Lucky for him and the party Ananias was more than ready to join the ranks of USWP Party Presidents. Many in the party had noticed Ananias as being an extremely intelligent individual with excellent writing skills. Ananias had helped greatly with the Scrabman campaign and had some creative ideas of his own and became the easy choice for Party President.
There was some controversy during the Party President elections of April as party outside, Justinious Mcwalburgson III was attempting a PTO of the party so he could become the number one individual in the US. Though the race was close early on, Ananias managed to successfully pull ahead and win the seat.
Upon achieving the Party President Position Ananias began working quickly on Congress Elections. He also released a great article to begin a USWP Pride media campaign, a true sign of his brilliance. Ananias became the second person in USWP history to pursue a 51 state Congress plan. Unlike the previous 51 state plan by GoBucks this one was critized by many outside of the party as an USWP power grab. In the end the plan was deemed as successful for several reasons.
Ananias continued to succeed as USWP party president. He continually released new plans for activity and education and started many comprehensive operations within the USWP. He focused a lot of efforts on achieving victory in future Congress elections and in involving the "homebase". Ananias quickly became overworked and by late April he could be quoted as reaching his exhaustion point, he took a short step back and let others step up to the plate. Notably, Harrison Richardson became more active as Comm Director.
May: Continuing Power
The beginning of May saw a less active USWP internally. Efforts still continued to increase the party size and activity however the Leadership was becoming exhausted. All of this and another Crisis hit the USWP, a member was accused of bribery, which has since not been officially connected with the USWP. Articles were released by the USWP and the issue cleared up quickly.
During this month Scrab ran for Party President once again and in the supreme showing of USWP power and activity won by a bigger margin than last month and the biggest margin ever in eUSA history to this date, he won with over a 1,100 vote lead. A sign that Americans trusted Scrab.
Ananias, once again, went for a 51 state plan for Congress. This time the plan included more full USWP members. This time the plan acquired more seats, 23 USWP seats and 25 seats by USWP candidate. For the first time in USWP and eUS history a party controlled the majority of Congress. A sign that last time's campaign helped train members to be ready.
In mid-May a vote was started by Harrison Richardson to relocate to a new forum. The current forum was owned by Peregrine who had been unheard from in many months, leaving the USWP leadership without the ability to appoint new administration. The vote supported a new forum and with the help of Killing Time the USWP got a new forum on the same server as the eUS Forum.
The end of May saw a continuation of USWP power. Past growing anti-USWP opinions seemed to be dwindling for the first time.
June: USWP Success Lives On
In late May, early June it was decided that Scrabman would run for the final time as eUS president. His race was much closer than past, perhaps a sign of dwindling power of the USWP. It was also decided that Ananias would continue as Party President, a decision based upon his very successful reign.
June was met with huge recruitment efforts made by the USWP. In fact one eUS citizen complained about being messaged by 6 USWP members, though it is believed he was exaggerating. Despite complaints the USWP continued to recruit under leadership of ligtreb who was leading the recruitment campaign.
In June the USWP celebrated its one year anniversary of beginning to come to power. It was very clear that the USWP had come a long way and still had a distance yet to travel.
After much debate the USWP decided on the replacement for Scrabman who was ready to officially retire as eUS President. Up and rising member Harrison Richardson rose to the task as he was very experienced in international relations from serving as Secretary of State under Scrabman.
In Congressional elections the USWP fared fairly well, despite running fewer actual USWP candidates then past elections and not pursuing a 51 state plan. Cerb was leading the PAC at the time and more efforts were being focused on convincing the eUS that HR was the next best choice after Scrab.
The end of June saw Ian John Locke IV, who continued to be party CoS offer new ideas. He helped inspire the first USWP podcast and the USWP Twitter account. Cerb ran the first podcast, the machine shop but it since has been neglected. The USWP Twitter account still sees occasional use.
The Fifth Generation: World War III Era
July: New Leaders, Fall from Power
July saw a lot of change for the USWP. First their endorsement of eUS President had changed to Harrison Richardson who began to lead the eUS in stride. Second, Ananias resigned from the USWP EB after his discontent of EB decisions being made solely in IRC rather than utilizing the forums.
Zcia took over as USWP party president. The USWP saw a huge transition from party oriented goals of recruitment and activity increasing to goals related to the war effort. Thus, Zcia made the most selfless decision in USWP history and decided the USWP would run no official candidates. The decision was met with a great deal of controversy and many thought it would hurt the USWP. Zcia also decided that votes intended for USWP members would now be used to supply for PTO attempts in France.
On election day foreigners were trying to PTO Canada and much of the efforts intended for France were shifted to saving Canada. In the end the PTO of France was deemed unsuccessful and critics of the USWP No Congress Plan noted it as a failure. Though some USWP candidates did make it into Congress because they were acting as blockers.
During this month GoBucks initiated the first major amendment of the USWP constitution. With the help of Zcia and Ian John Locke IV the constitution was amended and decisions hanging in the air for months could finally be made.
August: Out of Power
The beginning of August saw limited power for the USWP. For the first time in months the USWP had one of the fewest member amounts in Congress, with only four. The USWP E.B. was losing activity and change was needed. The COS at the time Ian John Locke IV decided to help raise morale by doing two things, first he started getting the USWP involved in a PR campaign by pledging money to the war effort for subscribers and he also began to work hard on increasing the activity of the forums, which had been quite neglected in early August.
With the war effort, the morale and power of the USWP were at all time lows. For the first time in months, the USWP was no longer the largest party in the world, a fact that can be attributed to a large portion of members being stranded in foreign states.. Many of the Executive Board Emeritus members were disappointed at what they cited as lost effort after trying for months to get the USWP to congressional majority and now having only four candidates and a failed PTO attempt.
Soon the USWP E.B. underwent changes. Jasper Ferguson resigned as PAC director and ligtreb took his place. Shada Aeon then became the new Communications Director. ProggyPop, long time party member, seemed to be no longer associated with the party so his position of Legal Dept. Director was deemed as vacant and GoBucks was chosen to take his place. Tdwester one of the longest serving full time Executive Board members was also replaced. Though Tdwester's name might now show up much here he is one of the most loyal members of the USWP and has been working behind the scenes for the betterment of the party for countless months. Tdwester was replaced by Josh Frost as institute director. TD wass around as one of the few EB Emeritus members still active in the party in August, which include Inwegen, Lukasz Makowski and Panther.
Just before congressional elections crisis hit the USWP when former eUS President and USWP Communications Director, Harrison Richardson, announced that he had in fact been Franco, a.k.a. ThisGenMedia. Someone who had committed the biggest theft in eUS history. Harrison Richardson was quickly disowned by the USWP and he has now officially quit eRepublik. Backlash from the scandal hit when it was also announced that extremely influential USWP members Scrabman and HokieHigh were aware of Harrison Richardson's true identity. Scrabman and HokieHigh's account on the forums lost their EB privileges and were accidentally deleted in the process. Efforts were made to restore the accounts but nothing could be done. Scrab understood the problem and vowed to eventually return to the USWP Forums.
In Congressional Elections this month the USWP fared fairly well. Of the voted seats the USWP gained 4, more than any other party. This was mainly due to the use of advertisements and campaigning by Ligtreb, Cerb, Josh Frost, and Zcia. However, in this election seats were granted to people running in non-U.S. Occupied regions which granted the USWP 6 additional seats and 9 (plus one small party member) of the 34 seats. Several days into the Congressional term Cade Magnus transfered to the USWP.
September: Down to Number 2 and the Return of the Convention
The USWP decided to endorse Emerick for the presidency, not without much debate. In fact, within the party much debate ensued regarding the Presidential Nominations. Zcia started an unofficially vote for members to voice their opinion on who they wanted to endorse and soon argument broke-out on whether or not the USWP should have an official primary. Lorenzo Serafini and Ian John Locke IV got into a debate regarding the primary, which ended with Ian temporarily resigning his E.B. position and Lorenzo voicing his unimpressed opinion regarding the current USWP leadership. Long time USWP member Lukasz Makowski replaced Ian's spot on the Executive Board and Ian John Locke IV was admitted into Executive Board Emeritus.
With Party Elections on the way Ian John Locke IV announced he would be running against current Party President Zcia in the September Elections. Members of the party hoped this election would help re-energize the party once more. It was also an exciting election because for the first time since December there was true competition in the race for the USWP Presidency. Despite a prior announcement Ian decided not to run for Party President due to real life time constraints which left the path to presidency clear for Zcia.
During September around the time of the convention the USWP lost its number one rank in the eUS. America's Advancement Party was slowly catching up to the USWP in terms of membership and finally passed them on Saturday September 19th, 2009. This signifies the USWP loss of power as noted in August.
On Sunday September 20th, 2009 the USWP held its 5th National Convention. The convention was coordinated by GoBucks and Michael J Frost. At the convention Josh Frost was announced to be the October candidate for U.S. President from the USWP with Daphne Lilac as his running mate. Many new USWP projects were introduced, including the creation of a USWP Training Division. It was also noted the the USWP had two vacancies in the EB, in the Communication Dept. and the Business Affairs Department where Shada Aeon and Lukasz Makowski were the directors.
The month was finished off with the crushing of the momentum gained at the convention. The USWP Training Division was denied creation and Josh Frost announced he would not be able to run for President due to a real life commitment. Thus, the 5th National Convention and the progress made there was left to fade away.
