The Long View
First Issue. Hot Off The Presses!
This is my first Newspaper! This is my first Article!
This article is all about me. Read on and maybe you'll learn a lttle about you.
Unlike many of you, I joined this game because of the allure of being a business magnate. The military conquests and politics were secondary benefits. Boy did I pick the wrong game for that! I own 4 companies through my org and I am in no way getting rich from them. I mean really....Grain prices...WTF!!
So why did I stay with the game? The social aspect is stronger than I expected. I met some friends through commenting on articles and subscribing. I met some by reading the eUS Forums (I actually have a lot of fun considering the military strategies discussed on the General Military Discussion pages). Some I met in classes at the NAU. I met my strongest friends though, by joining a political party. I spend probably too many hours chatting with my Democratic Republican friends on IRC. And through my friends I have developed a zealous interest in our military success and in eUS politics.
I never did try to join the military though. I guess I just never have liked the idea of doing something just because someone tells me to do it. I consider myself a one man Mercenary Milita (at least in my head). I'm still trying to figure that out myself though, because I blindly follow DoD orders 99% of the time, so maybe I should at least join a militia. Well we'll see how that goes in the coming weeks.
So I guess the summary of this article is a piece of advise: If you are a new citizen (or an old one who has not been very active) join a political party, join the forums, take an NAU class, join the military (or militia), or better yet join all of the above. Find yourself a group to join, because it is the friendships you make and goals that you acheive as a team that make eRep a great game/addiction.
And also if you are not in a party, join the DemReps! And if you already are a DemRep, vote for Cromstar for Party President on the 15th! [2]
Thank You To My Supporters
I want to thank everyone who supported me, who endorsed me, who voted for me. I am the new congressman from Georgia thanks to you!I want to thank the 4 of the top 6 parties who endorsed me. I hope my performance in congress will win over the other 2 next month.I want to thank the smaller parties who endorsed me. With your help I had a total of 16 parties endorsing me. Some of you even sent voters and promoted me in your articles. You guys rock.I especially want to thank my friends who voted, shouted, or otherwise supported me. Most of you guys are my friends through the Democratic Republicans, but I have met others of you through my businesses, or other areas of eRep. Your words of encouragement gave me the confidence to give congress a shot. And you were right, I MADE IT!!! [3]
