Willem The Conqueror was a citizen of the Netherlands, born on day 2210 of The New World. He was born in Groningen (Northern Netherlands). A large part of the community of the Netherlands knows him of his newspaper The Eye of Tomorrow and his political involvement. He served as the 59th President of the Netherlands, 1st ad-interim President of the Netherlands (63rd President of the Netherlands), the 65th President of the Netherlands and the 70th President of the Netherlands.

Second profile picture: used from the 13th of August 2014 till the 6th of November 2015.

Third profile picture: used since the 6th of November 2015 and still in use today.

• Willem's first profile picture was a painting of William the third of The Netherlands (Brussels, 19 February 1817 – Apeldoorn, 23 November 1890), the picture is combined with a bar of the Military Unit: Alpha Unit.

• Willem's second profile picture was a painting of William the first of the Netherlands (The Hague, 24 August 1772 – Berlin, 12 December 1843), the picture is as his previous picture combined with a bar of the Military Unit: Alpha Unit.

• Willem's third and current profile picture is the same painting of William the first of the Netherlands as in the second profile picture. The picture is, as his previous pictures, combined with a bar of his Military Unit. But a different bar is used over here as Willem changed from Military Unit.

Military

In his starting days, Willem The Conqueror joined the Praetorian Guards (Commander back then: M. de Ruyter). Not a long time after that he joined Alpha Unit (Commander: Kiecho), he served there for about one and a half years, as a member and as a captain. After Alpha Unit, he joined the national Military Unit of the Netherlands called Dutch Armed Forces, Willem is still a member of that Military Unit till this day.

Presidencies

October/November 2014

Willem The Conqueror ran for the presidential seat in October 2014. The campaign articles can still be found in his newspaper The Eye of Tomorrow, including his government announcement and his plans. Willem won the elections with 44 votes (44.44%), his biggest opponent Garmr only ended up with 1 vote less, he got 43 votes (43.43%). With this victory, Willem took office on October the fifth 2014.

December/January 2014/2015

After GEN. DE LA REY was impeached by Congress, The Netherlands had no president in-game. In the debate on who was to lead the country in the final days of the December term, Willem's name was mentioned and after a few hours, a vote was held on whether or not Congress would give Willem the title of ad-interim President for the remainder of the term to lead the country. It got accepted. The debate wasn't closed after that as some considered the vote unfair, according to some, chairman Fhaemita Malodorous had deliberately overlooked Walhallah as a candidate for the presidency because the chairman didn't want him to be president. The debate was finally stopped when the January 2015 term began.

February/March 2015

Willem ran for the presidency this month. He won this election with 53 votes of the 91 total, which is 58.24% in percentages. His biggest opponent, GEN. DE LA REY, got 34 votes of the 91 total which is 37.36%. Dennis Plaza also ran but got only 4 of the 91 votes which is 4.40%. Willem took office on the 5th of February 2015. In this term Willem signed a new treaty with Hungary, the treaty gave the Netherlands 1 more region back to a total of 2 regions. Despite the fact that the Netherlands got one more region back, people were still disappointed by the fact that the Netherlands couldn't get more regions back from Hungary. In this term, new government banners were implemented and also new recruitment articles for starting players.

During this term the Dictator update of eRepublik was implemented, this gave players the opportunity to overthrow the government and Congress and make themselves the dictator, which can decide everything without the approval of Congress. The Dutch congress/administration decided to install their own dictator Garmr to protect the Dutch treasury from theft. Hereby Willem became the first Dutch President to be overthrown by a dictator. As this was planned, Garmr kept listening to the Dutch administration, thereby Willem still had the real power in hands.

July/August 2015

In these elections, there were two candidates, Willem and Shtula. Willem won with a landslide, with 86.75% or 72 out of the total 83 votes he once again was installed in the presidential office. This month the Netherlands had all their 4 core regions in possession, with the previous term only just gotten rid of Italian and German oppressors, Willem was determined to not let any regions slip out of Dutch hands again, and in that he succeeded.

Although there was one remarkable thing in this term, Willem declared war on Brazil after having agreed to let them pass through Dutch regions to reach Belgian occupied regions by Chile. There were some critics saying that that, wasn't a smart move as the Congress elections were almost beginning and with the NE, the Netherlands lost 4 MPP's and thereby 40.000 NLG which was a huge amount of money for the Netherlands. To compromise for the understandable concerns of the critics, Willem made sure that Brazil and Slovenia both paid 20.000 NLG after the war had ended to compromise for the lost MPP's, and had close contact to ensure that the Dutch had at least 1 region in possession. This to make sure that Congress elections would happen. This all happened, and 40.000 NLG was paid to the Dutch state, and congress elections did happen that month.

On day 2,225 Willem The Conqueror published his first article on his new Newspaper: The Eye of Tomorrow. Since then his newspaper has grown into a political news source for the people of The Netherlands.
