This article contains the religious views of Dioism. (What's this?)

Snow is the most unholy of all objects for Dioists. As the perceived antithesis to sand, it is considered to be suicidal to approach it, let alone touch it, and Dio forbid you go outside in a snowstorm.

In The Book of Dio, snow is used as a plot device, with the villains all being vulnerable to its effects.[1]

Snow is a type of precipitation in the form of hexagonal crystals, consisting of a multitude of snowflakes that fall from clouds. The process of this precipitation is called snowfall.

It is chiefly made up of crystalline water ice, or [H2O]. Ice crystals form when tiny supercooled cloud droplets (approx 10 μm in diameter) freeze. These droplets are able to remain liquid at temperatures colder than 0 °C because, in order to freeze, a few molecules in the liquid droplet need to get together by chance to form an arrangement close to that in an ice lattice; then the droplet freezes around this 'nucleus'.

Snowflakes also contain a porcinogen ("porcinoform mutagen") that can cause normal citizens to grow hooved hands and feet, floppy ears, a springy tail, and a Scandinavian accent. It is unknown how or when porcinogen becomes part of snowflakes, as studies have shown that snowfall in Japan does not contain it, leading scientists to believe that it is a regional factor in snowflake formation.

It was later discovered that snowflakes contain a mysterious hallucinogenic compound called caustic aurophilic pyroethylamide-catalyst, a hallucinogenic compound which, when given to a test subject, causes them to see people as commodities and lust for gold. It is a predominate characteristic of snow found in the northern hemisphere, and is even exported by some countries.

Sweden and Canada are both exporters of the "cap-catalyst" compound found in snow, using it to promote capitalist tendencies in ATLANTIS-controlled countries. Due to underdeveloped techniques of extracting the compound, many of it's older users are known to be pig-like in appearance and sometimes bald, due to the porcinogen being intact.

Due to being considered disgusting and unholy, snow is used in the virginization of citizens into Dioism. The snow's contaminants are used to test the immunities of the... , due to all native Pakistani having an intolerance to both the porcinogen and cap-catalyst. If the person being tested were not Pakistani, they would devolve into a pig after being covered in snow, due to their vulnerability to the chemicals.

Snow in folklore

Snow is covered in both The Book of Dio and The Circles of Dio, and is treated as unholy filth in both books. As in eRepublik, one who comes in contact with snow is said to devolve into a pig.
