80px Role of the President in Netherlands
Historically
The President in the Netherlands has had a somewhat different role than most other countries. Although starting of as pretty much the most important man there was, the biggest party generally also delivered the country president. In the beta period of eRepublik there weren't many parties, but since late 2008 the number of parties rose. The government eventually was formed by a majority in congress[citation needed], forcing parties to work together in coalitions. The Prime Minister therefore became politically more significant in the Netherlands, and for 2 years the role of Country President was generally considered mainly a military (and symbolic) position. After a year of debating and experimenting, In October 2010 the Netherlands switched from a Party-Coalition-based government to a (semi)CP-government. This was enforced after a constitution change proposed by Prime Minister Daniel Parker, disbanding the title of Prime Minister he held in the process.
