Citizen Page

It is about time you made yourself a citizen page!!! --QJ Lincoln Talk To Me 03:37, 19 April 2009 (UTC)

at you command (i am half asleep)----Hrvat CroatiaUser_talk:Hrvat 03:39, 19 April 2009 (UTC)
Even when the party name changes you need to, in a sense, "close out" the page and create a new one for the new page name. Often, with new names come new leadership, new ideas, and new orientations. If you want to build off the same information, it is fine and it can be copied over. For an example of what I mean, see Greek Government and Ethniko Enotiko Kinima. If we didn't do this we would have long chains of redirects for all of the times a party changed names. By the way, you did get the redirects right. :)--QJ Lincoln Talk To Me 02:29, 22 April 2009 (UTC)

Editing my citizen page

Thanks for the support! I have changed the design a bit, but the content what was changed by you wasn't edited. Thanks again! --Inaszakadt Szarvas 06:11, 5 June 2009 (UTC)

I need your help

Can you look at this page Hrvatski Domobran. What is it? Does it meet standards etc. for the wiki? --QJ Lincoln Talk To Me 22:03, 8 June 2009 (UTC)

It does not meet Erepublik standards (as far as I am concerned)...
It is page that describes Newspaper based on RL newspaper from Croatia (2nd WW) - RL newspaper had the same name.
Editor of the newspaper has received a Perm. Ban. Franko Ustaski Krilnik- for the content and/or comments in this newspaper.
Following is translation of the questionable content. I have left out the parts that refer to the Erepublik. (Sorry about poor translation, but it is written very badly, and I find it difficult to translate)

First paragraph is entirely RL content.

translation of Second paragraph:

Already in the very early play of the game eRepublik our founders (political party) had the idea of establishing the organization, movement and the party *for the liberation of the Croats and the Croatian homeland at any cost under the main ideas of nationalism, which in short means: **CROATIA-CROATS, ***restore HISTORICAL BORDERS, goals LITTLE PERSON, HELP ALL Croatians (wherever they were) and above total struggle for a better Croatian tomorrow.
We needed a newspaper worthy of our goal in the true meaning of 'ustaškog' = RL movement assisting Nazi regime during WW2) movements, Croatian nationalism. And this gave weekly newspaper 'HRVATSKI domobran', already it is historical newspaper, and naming was deliberate to bring together patriots that have Croatia in first place. ..........actual game content last 1.5 lines and continues...... spelling and grammar used as in the original 'Croatian domobran' established by DR. Pavelić 16th October 1928. year etymologic...........it now goes to the Erepublik game content, even thou it is heavily biased.

at best... this page needs heavy edit.

OBTW

  • for the liberation of the Croats and the Croatian homeland at any cost under the main ideas of nationalism Erepublik Croatia is not only free, but has conquered most of the Serbia... This sentence refers to RL condition when RL Croatia controlled most of the neighboring countries -
    • CROATIA-CROATS actually refers to RL slogan where Croatia takes/owns most of BIH, Serbia, Slovenia and countries not in Erepublik at the moment - to mimic RL condition that existed for short while.
      • restore HISTORICAL BORDERS same as above - Croatia to own most of its neighbours (RL - greater Croatia)

hmmm..., I think I got carried away again ...  :-( ----Hrvat User_talk:Hrvat 04:07, 9 June 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for your help. Few things irritate me more than RL nationalism/historicism in eRepublik. I see that we have a few options:
  1. Delete it. Questionable content, RL content, and the owner of the newspaper is dead so we can't expect any more articles
  2. Fix it. add newspaper template. Remove RL stuff. Add brief translation move info to a Hrvatski page. Noting that the newspaper was controversial and the user banned.
  3. Come up with something else, isn't there always a third option?
I trust your judgment on this one. I don't like spending a lot of time on "dead" newspapers/companies/people's pages when there are so many other things to do in the wiki. Possibly work with AndyCro if you need further assistance. Thanks! --QJ Lincoln Talk To Me 12:10, 9 June 2009 (UTC)

Ok. I'll take option 2. and see how it turns out.----Hrvat User_talk:Hrvat 13:21, 9 June 2009 (UTC)

Greek Nationalist Party

The "Greek Nationalist Party" is what merged with The Family and Spartans to form the United Greece Party. Since the party still officially existed, it was later revived by another unrelated person who changed the name to the Greek Neutrality Party. Neutrality is the later name, but the Nationalist Party is the one that merged to become UGP. —Nicolae Carpathia | PEACE Global Community | Talk 05:46, 18 July 2009 (UTC)

thank you for your input. I was following info from Greek Neutrality Party - Wiki page. [[1]].
My mistake----Hrvat User_talk:Hrvat 05:51, 18 July 2009 (UTC)
Re-reading that page, I can see where you'd get that impression. That's just a poorly-worded section. —Nicolae Carpathia | PEACE Global Community | Talk 06:28, 18 July 2009 (UTC)

A big Thank You

Really, thanks for translating that Vulcain page (even though it sounds like google translate ;)!), that's really appreciated. I planned on translating it on my free time, but it appeared I was overcharged :P!

I would love to know how we do these thanks banners like in Wikipedia, but sadly, here, I don't. So just thank you. --Eldorino talk 06:15, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

Feedback

We are beginning a new program for the wiki, the eRepublik:Wiki Mentor Program. I need some feedback.

  1. Should those with mentors be called Mentees or Proteges? (I can't decide)
  2. What do you think of the presentation?
  3. What do you think of the pages and layout? Feel free to make any edits or tweaks to info.
  4. What do you think of the project overall? Is enough information given? Do you feel like the program is explained well enough? Is there enough guidance? And I know I still need info on the "Mentee pages"
  5. Do you think this will work?

Thanks for any input you can provide! --QJ Lincoln Talk To Me 14:50, 7 August 2009 (UTC)

Justin Tyme

I have a problem. The time line for party presidency for Justin Tyme is simply not correct. Are you sure that he was in the Federal Social Democrat Party? Man, I am lost. If that is correct than what happened was next:

I have updated RFD few minutes ago, but if the above data is correct (removing Tyme from the list of PPs, succeeded party will be FSDP, dissolution May 15), I will update it again and also update FSDP article. So mate, how sure are you that you wrote the party name correct? :P --AndyCro Click here to talk with me baby! ;) 08:58, 14 October 2009 (UTC)

Off topic: When I edit some pages which are historical, I go crazy because I realize how some historical data simply doesn't exist! :(

I have used following link: Justin Tyme PP in May.. He was also PP of the same party in June as well. The NAME of the party may not be correct, however the party ID NUMBER should be correct.
Odd thing is that... this party is now in Austria... and Justin T. was never in Austria. On the other hand, Austria WAS part of Germany.
When I edited Justin's page, Party had a name Federal Social Democrat Party. This does not mean that it was the name of the party at the time of Justin's Presidency. I just simply do not know. (as Wiki shows him as a 'founder' of FSDP and Erepublik link has shown him to be PP of FSDP - I did not check any further.)
Today this party is in Austria??? and is called Party of Austrian Empire

  • In short, I have no idea what was the actual name of the party (AT THAT time) while he was Party president in May - June

PS
I have updated Party of Austrian Empire. This party was named by Karantanec. It was Austrian Progressive party before that - named by Miloslav. It is only a minor party in Austria revitalized with arrival of French Canadians.

I believe that JT renamed the party again to the original name when he was elected if you used the mentioned link. Thanks Hrvat, this was a great help from you, you are the best! :) --AndyCro Click here to talk with me baby! ;) 11:55, 14 October 2009 (UTC)

Flag:UK.jpg - Vs - Flag:United_Kingdom.jpg

I've been working on country flags (removing doubles and trying to have just 1 flag for every country).
UK has 2 flags.

  • Flag:United Kingdom - which is used in UK Regions template, as seems to be the main flag
  • Flag:UK which I have been slowly replacing with: Flag:United Kingdom

However
Flag:UK is used in citizen template. What I mean is... most people have entered 'Country=UK' and that citizen is placed into CATEGORY UK.
I have tried to change 'Country to United Kingdom' but than there is NO category for United Kingdom (just UK). SEE example:
http://wiki.erepublik.com/index.php/Nelsaidi

any ideas?----Hrvat User_talk:Hrvat 11:59, 1 November 2009 (UTC)

I will take a look into it in day or two to see what would be the best option. --AndyCro Click here to talk with me baby! ;) 12:25, 2 November 2009 (UTC)
OK I look at your problem and I recommend that you leave Flag-UK.jpg. It is connected to far more articles, and only 2 templates are connected to the Flag-United Kingdom.jpg (which I will replace now). So, now you can work, work and work with replacing this image. :)
Just about done. What links here for United_Kingdom.jpg still lists 3 files:
I do not see any old flags anywhere in these files. I'll leave it to you to sort it out. ;-P
Also there are missing categories for UK Party, UK Historical party' etc... ----Hrvat User_talk:Hrvat 12:09, 7 November 2009 (UTC)
Well done Hrvat. I have made complete review so this is the info: SmFlag is automatic, so it links to every Flag- image, great war has been updated, and history of sol is a bug (what a surprise). I have also created all needed categories and I have deleted all notneeded categories. If you need anything else, you know where I am... --AndyCro Click here to talk with me baby! ;) 14:49, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
