MAHARLIKA, which is from a a Filipino term meaning “nobility” or “aristocracy”, is a second generation Center Philippine Political Party, succeeding the New Philippines Party and P.C.B. Filipino. It was renamed in June of 2012. MAHARLIKA is currently the third largest party in the Philippines, and the fastest growing political party in the country.
History
In June of 2012, MAHARLIKA party was formed from the Elite Philippines Movement by party president TZOY. It never ran a candidate for Presidential elections until September of 2012, when the party supported Destroyer S87 of DPP in the Presidential elections. In November of 2012, it fielded a Presidential candidate for the first time when its former party president, Mr.Beany, proposed TZOY as candidate for the Presidential elections. He only had 7 of 115 votes. For December 2012 and January 2013 presidential elections, MAHARLIKA supported Deathless91. For the February 2013 presidential elections, the party supported kb1992 of Kilusan ng Makabayang Pilipino. For the March 2013 presidential elections, the party unofficially supported kmm225.
