Newt Gingrich was a citizen of Australia.
Starting Out
Newt Gingrich was born on April 7th, 2009 in Indonesia. He lived in Indonesia for about a month. During that time Newt noticed the Imperialistic ways of Indonesia which he did not want to be associated with. Newt decided to pack his bags and move to one of the countries that Indonesia had invaded. Seeing as Newt had several friends in Australia he decided to move there. He made his residency in the capital region of New South Wales and became a member of the Australian National Party.
Life in Australia
Once in Australia, Newt noticed that a person he knew was being attacked. His name was calibur.
Newt learned about the scandal Calibur had been in and how he was trying to bring back his image. Newt decided then to start his newspaper, The Gingrich Tribune, and wrote an article in which he came to Calibur's aid. Newt felt that everyone deserved a second chance.
After about a week, it all died down. Newt took an immediate interest in Aussie politics and got involved from the start. During his second month, he chose to run for the Australian Senate.
Australian Senate
On May 25, 2009, Newt chose to ran for Senate in the region of Queensland due to the fact that he was a new citizen in Australian politics. He really wanted to get elected to do something good for the people of Australia. He was elected as one of the top 9 Senators for Queensland. His first term in office did not go uneventful. That term there were two controversial Senators (Australian Warlord and Icey1174).
Also, during his first term, Newt sponsored the Senate Impeachment Act, which set the procedure to remove a Senator from Australia from office. It passed the Senate overwhelmingly.
After the end of his first term, Newt decided that he would run for re-election in the region of Queensland. By this time Australia had gained back the region of Tasmania, so it was gonna be a little harder to get re-elected. Again he was elected as the top Senator for Queensland (Newt had the most votes in that region). At the beginning of the term he was nominated for the position of Deputy Speaker along with fellow senators; DARK VORODOR and Mark Sanchez (DARK VORODOR had been the previous term's Deputy Speaker). When the vote was over, the tally was tied for both DARK VORODOR and newt. The Speaker for that term, Melchizedek Smith, cast the tie breaking vote and Newt was chosen as Deputy Speaker. During that term, Newt had also been chosen as the Congressional Liaison for the Australian National Party. Basically he was to inform Senators about current bills/amendments as well as getting feedback from party members about how they felt about legislation and what kinds of legislation would be good for the country. The second bill that Newt wrote was passed that term; it added an amendment to the Senate Protocol Act.
In July 2009, right before his third term Newt was nominated for the position of Speaker and was up against the current Speaker Melchizedek Smith. During the very end of his second term Melchizedek Smith had to take an absence and Newt was Acting Speaker for the last week of the term. During that portion of the term, the Senate was busier than usual. For the hard work he put in, Newt was nominated and seconded by many senators. All he had to do was get re-elected again; which happened. Again Newt was Senator for Queensland. Then came the vote for Speaker. It was the closest race for Speaker that Senate had seen; the final tally was Melchizedek Smith 15 and Newt 14. Newt had lost by 1 vote. Surprisingly he did not take it that hard.
In August 2009, Newt again decided to run for re-election in Queensland. Backed by a strong Newspaper Article, he was successful in his re-election to Queensland, receiving 4 votes.
The same occurred in September 2009, when Newt was elected for a fifth senate term. This month, Newt Gingrich did not write a newspaper article, however, he was still able to secure a massive voter turnout, and received 11 votes. This month, Newt was the highest voted senator in the state of Queensland, and the third-highest out of any of the Australian National Party senators.
During October 2009, Newt Gingrich again nominated for re-election as a Senator of Queensland. This time, he decided to write a Newspaper Article again. His campaign evidently worked, because he was successful in receiving 12 votes that month, and was the second highest voted senator in Queensland (behind H.Nelson.
In November 2009, Newt decided to take a break from senate, and instead focus upon his run for Prime Minister.
