The Armee-Aufklärungsdetachement 10 (short AAD 10, English: Army Reconnaissance Detachment 10) was formed on March 14, 2011, by, at that time, Head of the Federal Department of Home Affairs (FDHA), Clifford Burns and Head of the Federal Department of Finance (FDF), Walther Rathenau. The AAD 10 is the first formed military special unit of the Swiss Armed Forces.
History
On May 30, 2011, Burns resign as the leader and Thalia von Sturmfels was chosen as the new leader of the AAD 10. Also, Walther Rathenau resigned as vice-leader of the ADD 10 and no new vice-leader was chosen.
Appropriation
In January of 2012, the AAD 10 was turned into the Swiss Special Forces, a very different MU than the AAD 10, but with the same logo.
