API Parties?
I was wondering if the API held information about political parties. If it did, it could mean a automatically updating party list with Name, PP, Members and Congress Seat which would be extremely helpful since a lot of the wiki needs API updated tools. -- Mikhail Alexander | Talk 23:52, 30 October 2011 (PDT)
- Of course it could be helpful, but admins don't give a damn either about a Wiki or API :3 -- Grzechooo drop a line 04:32, 31 October 2011 (PDT)
- Useful - Yes; Possible - Yes; What is needed for this? - An idiot. We're already using every (efficient) possibility this API offers. New ideas concerning current API --> straight to trash. -- sampo555 | Talk 08:05, 31 October 2011 (PDT)
- If Admins don't care about the API or Wiki, I don't see why we should work. We could do one of those strike things until they give us what we want :D -- Mikhail Alexander | Talk 16:23, 31 October 2011 (PDT)
- Well, they fought the rebellions with missions. Any ideas what they will fight Wiki editors with? Free gold :P? -- Grzechooo drop a line 08:43, 1 November 2011 (PDT)
- I bet they don't really care if the wiki gets fucked up. Only one that might care is Belea and that's it. I don't think we achieve much with a strike (like we're doing anything now either :D) -- sampo555 | Talk 09:24, 1 November 2011 (PDT)

Cleanup
Anyone which to help me clean up all the read links? Special:WantedPages -- Mikhail Alexander | Talk 05:20, 2 November 2011 (PDT)
- There are 100408 wanted pages (2nd Nov).
- 57000 pages have 2 or more links pointing to it, while over 40000 pages have One single link pointing to a wanted page.--Sre8renica 06:58, 2 November 2011 (PDT)
- LangMenu causes "red links" to every language there is in the wiki. Happy editing :D -- sampo555 | Talk 07:30, 2 November 2011 (PDT)
- This whole idea of LangMenu "more" is killing Wanted Pages :3 -- Grzechooo drop a line 09:37, 3 November 2011 (PDT)
- Can't we just drop the "more" concept from the LangMenu (as in, see/display only the pages that exist)? --Belea2008 03:58, 11 November 2011 (PST)
- It will still check the existence of article in every language which pops up in the wanted pages list. -- sampo555 | Talk 05:21, 11 November 2011 (PST)
- #ifexists triggers wanted pages? Well, I didn't know this one :3 -- Grzechooo drop a line 05:33, 11 November 2011 (PST)
- I remember reading that somewhere but it seems that I was wrong: the pages appear in What links here list, not in wanted pages :). But back to the idea: it would only make people create the translations to crazy locations and I don't want to sort them out. -- sampo555 | Talk 05:40, 11 November 2011 (PST)

clean url's
I know there is a way to change the URL's of a wiki, so a page that is called 'http://wiki.erepublik.com/index.php/example' will simply become 'http://wiki.erepublik.com/example', why don't we have this? -- Daniel Parker 12:02, 5 November 2011 (PDT)
- Contact - Game support - Complaints there. We don't have admins here to do that kind of things. They will take the idea under consideration but will never implement it (like said, admins don't care about wiki or API). -- sampo555 | Talk 00:41, 6 November 2011 (PDT)

Removing company pages
I've noticed that the only reason we're keeping the pages is due to the wiki link from the page to the wiki but it's not actually a link, it's just an image. Can we actually remove them? People have a lot of companies now days, I doubt people would list every single one and I think this would reduce work for us in having to deal with them. But all we'd have to do is delete every single company page. This is creating work for us and it's just useless. -- Mikhail Alexander | Talk 03:19, 14 November 2011 (PST)
- Whatever. -- sampo555 | Talk 06:58, 14 November 2011 (PST)
- +1 I suggest to delete them, 99% of company pages are either outdated/useless/spam -- Grzechooo drop a line 06:23, 16 November 2011 (PST)
- +1Indeed company pages hardly have any usefull info on them -- Daniel Parker 13:59, 26 November 2011 (PST)
API
In case you haven't noticed yet but the whole API seems to be broken (or my scripts, don't really care which one) and due to that the data for regions, mpps, embargoes and bonuses are not updated. Just thought to let you know... -- sampo555 | Talk 08:51, 16 November 2011 (PST)
- I messaged admins to add Albania to the API but if it's broken, great. Now we have to do everything manually >:( -- Mikhail Alexander | Talk 13:14, 16 November 2011 (PST)
- Albania is in the map data but the whole data is not updating. It's just the same old data there were few days ago (or my scripts are broken due to the changes, don't really have time to investigate)... -- sampo555 | Talk 21:59, 16 November 2011 (PST)
- It seems that the API has updated so that the day must be correct in the URL (they have managed to add map history to the data \o/).
Due to timezone differences the date my script generates is too big. For example now my script thinks it's 17th (8 AM here) but in eRep it's still 16th. So updates between 14:00 and 00:00 EREP not happening anymore...-- sampo555 | Talk 22:10, 16 November 2011 (PST)- lolwhat, admins fixed API? -- Grzechooo drop a line 07:29, 17 November 2011 (PST)

And a question
What did Bora Can ASLI do exactly? He's investing a lot of time and energy in order to send me a lot of "love" messages... from what I understood, his Wiki account was blocked?!? Just asking... --Belea2008 01:41, 22 November 2011 (PST)
- it is not difficult to find out what editor does on Wiki. There is a Search function (poor and temperamental at times) on Wiki. It generally works reasonably well... But to answer you question: http://wiki.erepublik.com/index.php/Special:Contributions/Bora_Can_ASLI I do not think any further explanation is necessary. --Sre8renica 02:16, 22 November 2011 (PST)

Template:RegionsTable Update
I've updated Template:RegionsTable to automatically update according to the eRepublik API feed that sampo555 ports over to the wiki.
- In case of any problems, the essential pages are:
- Template:RegionsTable - The page that gathers the data to create the table
- Template:RegionsTable/Table - The page responsible for creating the outlines of the table
- Template:RegionsTable/Conquered/Row - The page responsible for creating the individual rows
- Template:RegionsTable/Occupied - The template used in creating the first two sentences that describe what the country's original regions are (the actual sentences are put together in the main template page)
- Template:RegionsTable/OwnerData - The page containing the API feed data, updated by sampo's bot. It contains a switch array with each country and its regions.
There are a few very small changes you Wiki editors will have to make to the country pages using it. ;) Most of the details are outlined here Template talk:RegionsTable.
If there's any problems or suggestions for the template, please contact me.--vSkyzv Talk - Contribs 21:42, 27 November 2011 (PST)
