Southeast of Mexico is a region of Mexico. Its capital city is Campeche.
The Southeast of Mexico was taken over by Portugal as the result of the Ibero-American War and then conquered by Spain. Resistance war on January 19, 2009 was successful and Southeast of Mexico was returned to Mexico.
