He was an Antu Cumhuriyet Partisi member. With ACP's process of change (its name was changed to Turkuaz Hareket) he has been elected Congress member for 5 times. He took it at 3 times Southeastern Anatolia and 2 times Eastern Anatolia.
Later he got elected 7 more times in the Congress.
In August 2010; he was an Education Minister of Turkey in Steoks's government.
In July 2011 he was elected as President of Turkey as a member of Turkuaz Hareket.
In December 2013 he was a Vice Minister of Interior & Coordination of Turkey.
