The Mitsurugi Group was the holding company of the Mitsurugi Family. Alleged to date back to the Kamakura Period, documents confirm that the Mitsurugi Group has been active in Shikoku since at least the Taishou Era. Formerly a zaibatsu of some renown, the Mitsurugi Group operated only a small farm, Kokumotsu Grains, on the Korean Peninsula.

The company's name, Kokumotsu (穀物), was actually simply Japanese for 'cereal' or 'grain'. On Day 659 of the New World, the Kokumotsu farm was lost in the Theocratic conquest of South Korea.
