What is the bar?

The Bar is a place in which editors can exchange their ideas, or drink a beer.

After introducing yourself at the Community Portal, you can learn what changes need to be made, see what projects are going underway and take part in many active discussions. You are welcome to start a new discussion, but keep in mind that all articles have their own talk pages, and please remember to sign your comments!

In summary, how we treat each other does matter. It matters because, without empathy, our lives are shallow, self-centered and meaningless.

Update Outdated and Stub pages.
Translators, if you would like to help, check out the Category:Translations or alternatively, if you find an article that doesn't have a translation in your language, feel free to do that.
Feel free to format non-formatted articles

Old info pages

What is the best way to proceed when the information on a wiki page goes out of date and new up to date information is available? Is just as simple as to overwrite the old content or can I keep the old content for historical reference in another page for respect to what previous editor did? --Jmurrib21 09:25, 1 December 2013 (PST)

Hello,

You can simply overwrite the old content, as wiki automatically stores the old pages. You can see the old pages in the "View history" tab on top of the page (ex. [1]).

Hello,
Although eRepublik Wiki keeps a history of edits, you may simply add the new content in the page. If somehow the new content refers to some old one which is no more valid, you may simply add a new paragraph in that page, something like 'History', where you can remind readers that in a previous time a certain situation was going on. You can see an example of what I'm saying in Taxes page, where a Old taxes paragraph has been added since the introduction of the Work Tax.

About Warning and Deletion templates

Hello everyone,
I'm glad to inform you that Template:Warning and Template:Deletion have been updated! Now they both have a timestamp and the field for user using the template and reason for adding it.
Both can be used as follows:

Warning

{{subst:Warning|User|Reason}}

Deletion

{{subst:Deletion|User|Reason}}

Existing Warning templates have their times and counters perfectly working, however they show some weird stuff for User field and Reason one.
Don't mind too much about text formatting in Template pages, they perfectly show when you deploy them.

Template:Occupied

I wanted to use the regionstable on the Netherlands page again, but seems the underlying Template:Occupied is broken. Looks like it's mainly the images/reference there to that are gone. Any idea how to fix it?

Wiki is in a mess... I am afraid we have lost our way, since old days... and as always - no support from game admins. Version 1

As I am "old player", I have been reviewing broken links and somehow managed to come to old articles... For some strange reason, they are doubled categorized - for example, there are categories Version1_Hrvatski and Hrvatski on every page. I would rather that only one category - Version 1 (language) would be on this pages because when you go to category (language), there is subcategory Version 1 (language)... I tried to review categories to delete useless one; however, as you can see, there are loads of them and I never managed to arrive to V. Anyway, you're right: we should only keep Category:Version1 and leave language categories according to translation guidelines.

Plans for March and April 2014

Hello everyone again. I was long time inactive, so it is time to re-activate myself and give you all a lot of tasks. :)

So, I have created a plan for this year for all editors which will be divided into several categories - update, maintenance, translation, review and new pages. I have marked the beginning of all sections with blue color in which everyone can apply, and with red color only uber editors can apply. Please, feel free to apply for any task that you think that you could do it. There are no restrictions for number of people to apply, or for what task would you apply, so apply yourself by using my example below in the sections and start improving the wiki :) --AndyCro Click here to talk with me baby! ;) 11:46, 3 March 2014 (UTC)

Update

This will be probably the toughest part that we have to do. It will include update of all articles and templates, even policies on wiki so this section will have 4 subcategories:

Article update - we will create some kind of list and it will be on to-do list, so everyone would get a chance to help, but for now, a list of categories that has to be dealt with are:
- Special categories that editors could battle with:
- Formatting non-formatted articles
- Category:Stub
- Category:Translations
- Category:Outdated
Template update - it will be done by reviewing all templates. Most of them are probably already updated, but I noticed that for example "party template" isn't. But a list will also be done, so anyone can check, and please if you don't know how to fix it, use your sandbox or simply post here what should be updated.
Policies - eRepublik:Wiki_Policies - this is not a simple update - a suggestion will have to be written as changes have to be done carefully, please use your user sandboxes for this and let me know when you have done something
Translations - review of all translated pages will have to be done also. To ease up the work, a list will be done in April, so it is not a priority, the system will be that on every article that you think should be updated, a {{Translation incomplete}} will be added for future reference on Category:Translations

Maintenance

The most boring part of our job, but it have to be done. Major problems with wiki will be problem for our Admins Grzechooo and Gucio.
Minor maintenance will be done daily by uber editors and it will consist of:

Checking recent changes, which will include everything from new articles, updates, file uploads - at this moment it will be done by Gucio and myself, but if you would like to help leave a comment ;)
Approving new editors - by Gucio
Removing unnecessary redirects

Translations

Scheduled for forth month, the idea is to create a list of important game articles that have to be translated + articles from already mentioned category. Gucio done this already, so he will be the volonter to organize this again. :)
There are some pages that should be updated also, I will add them here in April when Gucio and I create a battle plan for this task ;)

Review

Review is checking all the articles in the category and updating it if necessary. If you don't know how to update it, leave the {{Urgent}} on it.

Review of all game articles in Playing_the_Game
- Main category (100 articles) + categories: Category:Awards, Category:API, Category: Media, Category:Removed features, Category:Rising, Category:Version1, and subcategories of politics and military.
