eRepublik Official Wiki:Bar
Welcome to the eRepublik Bar
“ Remember to sign (~~~~) your comments! ”
The Bar is a place in which editors can exchange their ideas, or drink a beer.
After introducing yourself at the Community Portal, you can learn what changes need to be made, see what projects are going underway and take part in many active discussions. You are welcome to start a new discussion, but keep in mind that all articles have their own talk pages, and please remember to sign your comments!
We need editors and translators!
If you are new and don't have any experience with wiki at all - ask for help in the Bar!
Dear editors and translators, we need you to:
- Update Outdated and Stub pages.
- Translators, if you would like to help, check out the Category:Translations or alternatively, if you find an article that doesn't have a translation in your language, feel free to do that.
- Feel free to format non-formatted articles
Old info pages
What is the best way to proceed when the information on a wiki page goes out of date and new up to date information is available? Is just as simple as to overwrite the old content or can I keep the old content for historical reference in another page for respect to what previous editor did? --Jmurrib21 09:25, 1 December 2013 (PST)
- Hello,
- You can simply overwrite the old content, as wiki automatically stores the old pages. You can see the old pages in the "View history" tab on top of the page (ex. [1]). Nunobaton - Talk «» My Work 03:23, 2 December 2013 (PST)
- Hello,
Although eRepublik Wiki keeps a history of edits, you may simply add the new content in the page. If somehow the new content refers to some old one which is no more valid, you may simply add a new paragraph in that page, something like 'History', where you can remind readers that in a previous time a certain situation was going on. You can see an example of what I'm saying in Taxes page, where a Old taxes paragraph has been added since the introduction of the Work Tax.

Categories
When translating pages to another language following rule was valid:
- Add the language category so that the page will be categorized properly: type Category:Language, for example Category:Italiano.... . No other categories should be on the page (unless they have been added automatically by a template.
I have noticed that large number of recently added Translated Pages have lots of categories... Couple examples:
- Bulbaro20/Română has:--> Category:Members of Dracones - Category:Press Directors of Romania - Category:People of Romania - Category:Citizens
- Mlendea Horatiu/Română has no less than 16 categories
- Category:Ministers of Education of Romania
- Category:Ministers of Culture of Romania
- Category:Officers of Dracones
- Category:Captains of Dracones
- Category:Members of Dracones
- Category:Officers of Garda Nationala
- Category:Graduates of Garda Nationala
- Category:Presidents of The Matza Party
- Category:Vice Presidents of The Matza Party
- Category:Congress Members of The Matza Party
- Category:Members of The Matza Party
- Category:Mentors of Romania
- Category:Press Directors of Romania
- Category:Society Builders of Romania
- Category:People of Romania
- Category:Citizens
Overuse of categories on original/English language pages was frown upon, and was absolutely forbiden on translation pages. --Sre8renica 00:14, 23 January 2014 (PST)
- I've been editing under that assumption.
About Warning and Deletion templates
Hello everyone,I'm glad to inform you that Template:Warning and Template:Deletion have been updated! Now they both have a timestamp and the field for user using the template and reason for adding it.
Both can be used as follows:
Warning
{{subst:Warning|User|Reason}}Deletion
{{subst:Deletion|User|Reason}}Existing Warning templates have their times and counters perfectly working, however they show some weird stuff for User field and Reason one.
Don't mind too much about text formatting in Template pages, they perfectly show when you deploy them.
See you!

Template:Occupied
I wanted to use the regionstable on the Netherlands page again, but seems the underlying Template:Occupied is broken. Looks like it's mainly the images/reference there to that are gone. Any idea how to fix it?

About SinFilis stuff
The stuff about the SinFilis alliance has been moved in a Hanibal LA's sandbox subpage.
This is the Bar, not a public sandbox.

Am i Back?
Hello everyone!!! You probably don't remember me, but I was very active few years back and I am thinking about comeback... Is anyone from the "old school" still alive? And do you have task list somewhere if you need a hand? --AndyCro Click here to talk with me baby! ;) 01:54, 28 February 2014 (PST)
- o:
Welcome back!
--Yamisuke «Talk» 03:56, 28 February 2014 (PST) - Thank you for your welcome, but I will spam a lot in few next days, so please don't change your opinion then :) --AndyCro Click here to talk with me baby! ;) 14:12, 28 February 2014 (PST)
- Welcome back Andy. I remember you, Mr. Croatian President.
- Wiki is in a mess... I am afraid we have lost our way, since old days... and as always - no support from game admins. Good luck with categories... some of editors have been piling categories on translation pages (like 8 cat's on one page)... Anyway, welcome back. --Sre8renica 17:17, 28 February 2014 (PST)
- Holy shit, nice to see you back Andy! I have to say that Wiki for some time already (2 years?) is in complete mess... -- Grzechooo drop a line 07:24, 1 March 2014 (PST)
Version 1
As I am "old player", I have been reviewing broken links and somehow managed to come to old articles... For some strange reason, they are doubled categorized - for example, there are categories Version1_Hrvatski and Hrvatski on every page. I would rather that only one category - Version 1 (language) would be on this pages because when you go to category (language), there is subcategory Version 1 (language)... As there are some broken links, I would take some time to review all articles and repair the broken links as well as double categories, what do you say? --AndyCro Click here to talk with me baby! ;) 13:31, 28 February 2014 (PST)
- To be honest, I don't see why not. Not sure if you're fan of the mass edit or whether you prefer to go through the pages one by one and do it that way. --"Gucio «Talk»" 13:56, 28 February 2014 (PST)
- I tried to review categories to delete useless one; however, as you can see, there are loads of them and I never managed to arrive to V. Anyway, you're right: we should only keep Category:Version1 and leave language categories according to translation guidelines.
--Yamisuke «Talk» 14:04, 28 February 2014 (PST)- Guys, if you have some plans what are you doing, or what should be done, please write it somewhere and try to divide your tasks. I know that doing something major alone is mission impossible here :) If you already have a place where you write this plans, please point me in that direction ;) --AndyCro Click here to talk with me baby! ;) 14:12, 28 February 2014 (PST)
- p.s. For example TO DO LIST was updated in 2012... :( --AndyCro Click here to talk with me baby! ;) 14:14, 28 February 2014 (PST)
