Mayors & Councils
Since the launch of Version 1 of eRepublik, mayors and councils were no longer supported and so all disbanded.
The London Council is now disbanded due to the functionality to support mayors has been removed since eRepublik version 1.
It consisted of a team of residents of London to help the Mayor in gifting and updating on citizen's information.
The council consisted of the mayor of London and councillors selected by the mayor after reviewing their applications. The mayor had to filtered out who would received gifts, this was done depending on their activeness in work/training and their wellness (now Health). Due to this being too much for just the mayor to do due to the large population of London.
The London Council was organized through Google spreadsheets which separate sheets would represents different wards in London in which a councillor would be responsible for monitoring it and update on citizens wellness and activeness.
When the functionalities which allowed users to filter those who needed gifting and mayors being removed the all City run councils disbanded.

Retreat to London
Due to London's unique positioning of being surrounded by only two regions which belong to the United Kingdom, it was useful as a fortified location for retreat, this is what happened in World War IV when EDEN invaded the United Kingdom.
In February 2010, the United Kingdom was being attacked by both the USA and Canada. Prime Minister dishmcds commenced the retreat to London plan which meant losing all of the other regions so that London was the only region left.
Battles of London - Late 2010
In October and November 2010, the United Kingdom was being attacked once again by both Canada and the USA. London was secured twice, once against the USA and again against Canada.

Fall of London
In September 2011, the United Kingdom was in open war with both Canada and Ireland. On the 17th of September, 2011 (Day 1397) London fell for the first time in history of eRepublik, after huge amounts of damage from both Terra/EDEN and ONE. This left London under Canadian occupation for a short time before being liberated via resistance war.The Canadian president that first took control of London was Aeriala. London was later secured by France and has been under occupation since.
French occupation has continued for several months. The Commonwealth Agreement claimed 'Londres' as official French territory along with the rest of the south of England (or sud de l'Angleterre). The British obviously reject this.
