The North East of England is a region of the United Kingdom. It covers Northumberland, County Durham, Tyne and Wear, and Teesside (including parts of North Yorkshire). The only cities in the region are Durham, Newcastle upon Tyne and Sunderland.

Economy

The North East of England is one of the United Kingdom's four Icon - Fish.png fish regions, the others being Northern Ireland, the South West of England and Yorkshire & Humberside.
