The Governor is usually selected by the President or the Congress.
Most often the Governor controls the finance of the country, sets up national banks and monitors the monetary market. This position is also known as the Secretary of the Treasury in the United States or the Minister of Economy in countries such as France, Serbia, Montenegro (and, occasionally, Australia) or Minister of Finances in Germany.
