Steve Steinbeck was a politician living in the United Kingdom. He has served 4 consecutive terms in Congress and has been a long-standing member of the UK Reform Party, having been party president for two terms whilst embracing other senior roles within the party.
Personal History
Region
Steve Steinbeck was born in the South East of England on day 697. He resided there for his first three months in the game, but subsequently moved to the UK's fortress region London when the country came under threat from the enemy alliance EDEN.

Name and Avatars
Origins of Citizen Name
Steve Steinbeck's name draws inspiration from the famous novelist John Steinbeck. The forename 'Steve' was selected due to the corresponding 'St' sound - it does not reflect on any real life names.
Avatars
Steve previously used images of his favourite novelist (and name inspiration), John Steinbeck. However, he then decided to change his theme to Hercule Poirot, based on a 'bigger, better, bolder' image, centered around his famous mustache. Then, a week later, he once again altered his theme to Poirot's associate, Inspector Japp, as Poirot was, in his opinion, too fat and too Belgian.
Politics
Political Party
Steve has been a member of the UK Reform Party since October 2009. He has served as the party's Recruitment Director and as the party's Newspaper Editor. After having served 2 mandates as the Party President, he is now the party's Foreign Diplomat and remains as one of the senior party officials.
His time as UKRP President drew several criticisms, including comments about his questionable commitment to the job and a disappointing congress result in March 2010 election. However, he introduced numerous schemes that are favourable in the party, including a rewards system and the establishment of a political international of which UKRP was a founding member.
Legislature
Steve was a Congressman for his home region, the South East, although he has previously served a term representing the North East. He has a 100% voting record and was a reliable, sociable and friendly Member of Parliament who regularly participates in debate and discussions within the House of Commons.
Government
Steve has been the Cabinet Secretary in the GLaDOS administration and has previously had numerous roles in both the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Defence.
Political Views
Economically, Steve is very much a capitalist and supports a market free from government regulation. He believes the private sector should not have to compete with the state, and public services should only exist to serve the people. He is also a staunch advocate of civil liberties and individual freedom, and therefore is a libertarian.
He can generally be placed on the right-wing of the political spectrum to reflect these views.
Journalism
Steve is founder and editor of 'From The Moustached Mouth', a newspaper that regularly publishes light-hearted articles, which usually incorporate satire, cynicism and criticism.
Steve also writes articles out of the UKRP's organisation and currently publishes a weekly Party Presidential report on Saturdays.
Military
Steve was a Gunner in the 19th Regiment of the Royal Artillery, a division of the British Army. Prior to military reforms he was the Lieutenant onboard HMS Westminster in the Royal Navy, but started his military career aboard HMS Cutlass.
