Viglius (born October 1, 2010) is a statesman and publisher from the 
Netherlands, who has also held citizenship of 
Austria and 
Switzerland. His twin brother is Broersje.

Birth
Viglius, then still known as Hindrik, was born in Western Netherlands on Day 1,046 of the New World. He was invited to eRepublik by his twin brother, Broersje.
Achievements
Life in the Netherlands
Viglius entered the Netherlands political stage in October 2010. He has since been elected as a Member of Congress for the Libertarian Social Democrats and Democratisch Nederland, and has served the Netherlands as a Minister, Chairman of Congress and Ambassador.
Congress
After joining the LSD, Viglius ran successfully for his first Congress term in the October 2010 elections. Halfway his term, he participated in the founding of DemNL, of which he immediately became a member. After having served a second consecutive term in Congress, in December 2010 he left active politics to become a two-clicker.
Just before the April 2011 CP elections, Viglius became active again. After contributing to the reestablishment of DemNL, he ran for Congress unsuccessfully that month. In the May elections, however, he was elected to his third Congress term, followed by a fourth after the June elections.
When, after several days of debate, no other candidates came forward, Viglius applied for the office of Chairman of Congress. On August 12, he was elected to the position, to be reelected in September. In the August elections, he was elected for a fifth Congress term. After the end of his second term as Chairman of Congress, Viglius was replaced by Mael Dunbar on October 7, 2011.
Government
When Viglius became active again in April 2011, he co-wrote the DemNL manifesto, which stated DemNL's goal of establishing a Ministry of Education & Culture. When, subsequently, Daniel Parker won the May 2011 Presidential elections, Viglius was appointed the first ever Minister of Education & Culture of the Netherlands. He was reappointed to this post after ArtemIvanov became President in June 2011, and once again in July 2011. Viglius stepped down as Minister of Education & Culture on July 12, 2011.
CRAP
In June 2011, then President ArtemIvanov asked Viglius to head the Constitutional Reappraisal and Amelioration Program. The committee was instituted to rewrite the entire Lawbook of the Netherlands. Together with Broersje, he was able to present the results of months of rewriting and renewal in early September 2011. On October 5, 2011 all chapters of the new Lawbook were accepted and came into effect. President ElGorro awarded both Viglius and Broersje with the rank of Commandeur in the exclusive Order of Oranje-Nassau for their efforts.
Ambassador
Viglius has been Ambassador of the Netherlands to Austria and Switzerland from April 21, 2011 until his resignation on October 7, 2011.
Leaving the Netherlands
Viglius decided to leave the Netherlands in early October 2011 after discussion about the fate of the Senate erupted again. When, in the following weeks, relations between various political parties became very tense, he sharply spoke out against the methods used by many Iron & Wine members, resulting in many heated debates in the media.
In November, he spoke out against the policies of then DemNL Party President Kimberly McCullouch, resulting in a rift between him and the party leadership. Viglius subsequently decided to end all participation in and contact with his former political party, removing most ingame Dutch friends in the process.
Some days later, another dispute on the forum, in which Viglius was heavily criticized by, among others, Chairman of Congress Daniel Parker, led to his full withdrawal from Dutch society. He perceived the actions taken by moderators as censoring without a proper reason.
Life in Austria
As soon as Viglius decided to leave the Netherlands, he began looking for a new home. Knowing Austria from his time as Ambassador there, he applied for citizenship, becoming an Austrian citizen on October 10, 2011. Viglius immediately joined the center-left Austrian Coalition of Patriots political party and the Armed Forces of Austria Military unit.
Congress
On the October 25, 2011 Congress elections, Viglius was elected to the Austrian Congress for the first time, followed by a second, his seventh total, term after the November 25th elections.
Government
After the November 2011 Presidential elections, Viglius joined the government of the newly elected President, patar333, as Vice Minister of Education. Because of a very tight RL schedule, he was unable to perform any tasks in this position.
Ambassador
Starting on October 16, 2011, Viglius was appointed as the Austrian Ambassador to the Netherlands, succeeding Jeanlouis in that position. He resigned his position on November 8, 2011, because he felt he could not faithfully operate in the Netherlands any longer.
Leaving Austria
Viglius decided to leave Austria because he could no longer abide its pro-ONE actions. Having to support Poland in battle against Croatia was one step too far for him, Poland always having been the arch nemesis of his country of origin, the Netherlands.
Life in Switzerland
Already having asked for Swiss citizenship in October, Viglius decided to try a second time. On December 27, 2011, his citizenship request was accepted. Viglius immediately joined the Swiss Guard Military Unit and the Swiss Reform Coalition political party.
Return to the Netherlands
Because of a lack of time, Viglius' time in Switzerland was kind of uneventful. On February 6, 2012 Viglius returned to his native Netherlands, and was immediately given citizenship, getting elected as a Member of Congress for DemNL in the February elections.
Congress
Viglius immediately became an active Member of Congress again, participating in debates and initiating them himself. In March 2012 he succeeded in the adaption of the Dutch version of Chapter I of the Lawbook of the Netherlands, something still pending after the changes made by the CRAP committee. After being reelected for a ninth term in Congress in the March 25th elections, his seventh term in the Netherlands, Viglius reworked and translated Chapter V of the Lawbook. Viglius was subsequently reelected for another term, which was extended after May 25, 2012, because no Congressional elections were held because of a joint occupation of the Netherlands by Poland and Hungary.
After an absence from active politics, Viglius ran and was elected to Congress again on January 25, 2013.
Government
Just before the May 5, 2012 Presidential elections, Viglius was asked to join the government of ElGorro as a government advisor. Viglius accepted, and was appointed government advisor after ElGorro won the elections. In this capacity, Viglius advised the President on the institution of a new military honour.
When Presidential candidate Garmr asked Viglius to stay on as advisor if he were to win the June elections, he accepted, only to resign on June 7. The reason for his resignation was his unwillingness to accept several appointments to Garmr's cabinet.
Viglius was appointed as Minister of Home Affairs by President Kimberly McCullouch on January 17, 2013, after the resignation of Shtula. After a scandal regarding a leak from the Private section of Congress on the forums, he handed in his resignation to the Country President on January 27.
Party Presidency
In January 2013, Viglius ran for the position of Party President of Democratisch Nederland unopposed, resulting in him gaining the Party Presidency.
Ambassador
Starting on January 16, 2013, Viglius accepted a job as the Ambassador of the Netherlands to 
Ireland by Joep O, the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
