Conquered Countries and Regions

I want to bring this issue to the Bar BEFORE it turns into an edit war. A few weeks ago in the August Bar I began a discussion about conquered countries. My intention was to preserve the country information for historical purposes and the possibility for independence movements and future changes in the game.

I updated every conquered country and some region pages. For example Israel and Beersheba South District.

Now there seems to be a disagreement with Seductiv on the former Ukranian regions... Most of my changes have been reverted. I would like to have a discussion about this, using the comparison of edits for the region of Bassarabia [1]

I think my edits made it VERY clear that the region of Bassarabia was a part of Romania:

1. Conquering flag was prominent, Ukrainian flag had the secondary position in the coat of arms field.
2. The first line of the article stated "X was a former region of Ukraine and is now ruled by Romania as a result of the Ukraine-Romania War
3. The page was categorized in both countries "regions of X" category pages.

I don't see a problem with preserving the history of the regions. Thanks for your input so far. I just wanted to discuss this issue and get a consensus. I don't want this to be everyone's wiki, not just me imposing what I think. Maybe my next step in this wiki-venture is to create Conquered Regions and Conquered Country templates as the conquered seem to be my pet cause. AgentChieftan, did you see how I did the India and China pages? When I saw HOW MANY regions Pakistan now has, I laughed. Independent South African Republic

The Independent South African Republic (3 of 5 regions) has declared independence from South Africa August 7th, 2008 following a corrupt takeover by Croatians who have invaded, destroyed, and tried to create our nation into Croatia. They were not legitimately elected, therefore the government has been declared illegal and dysfunctional.

The ISAR is the most nation of the two, is made up of most or all parties in SA except for Proud Africa (the croatian nationalist party which now changed their name to the Croatian - African Union). They keep importing Croats and multies into the nation to keep it under their corrupt control.

So far, they have stolen over an estimated 200 gold since the start of the month for themselves and their companies and admitted to it. They also try to bribe the opposition to be on their side. 6000 ZAR now resides in ISAR city of Pretoria after we took it to keep some of our wealth in our own South African hands.

Thanks for the support. The wiki is a place to start as it's easy to get information across and by making ISAR its own wiki pages it may be better recognized by the international community as the true South African nation and may even come to our aid in taking back our country (hopefully) like the IRA is trying to do. This little bit was also a short explanation as to who we are, what we are, and why... so no one adds "Um... what is this?" to the Independent South African Republic talk page.

No, I don't believe so; why would it? It's a style sheet for my political party that I use rather than laying out all of the code on the party's page - I can type 5 words rather than half a page of confusing text. There is no need to have just one universal template, this doesn't bother anyone, it's for my benefit.

Well, since the Iranians seem to be in favor of having the current flag rather than the old one, I think we should inform their current president to hold a vote with the Iranian congress. According to Admin, this is the only way for them to have it changed, so if they really want to do so, they can decide as a country.

My Special Friend

Just for future reference, this is going to be transcluded to everywhere I find it to be relevant. I wholeheartedly welcome you to skip over this if you are not User:Aryamehr, but if you're going to voice your opinions in this dispute, reading this will do no harm.

And now, to resolve this dispute once and for all, I present three sections of talk pages, preserved here. As you can see, User:Aryamehr is refusing to compromise with me, as well as many of you, on The Book of Dio. I can't even count how many times he's tried to do something to change Pakistan's religion, and I won't bother, as it is irrelevant.

This time, however, he is behaving a bit differently.

This time, instead of opening his mouth/hands/mind and providing me with a practical reason as to why he is doing what he's doing, he's outright refusing to give me a reasonable response, and is trying to keep me out of this discussion in fear of being proven wrong. You can see three discussions preserved in their entirety for you to review and interpret. Whereas I have prooved all of my arguments with solid evidence, a willingness to compromise, and a reasonable amount of maturity, User:Aryamehr is persisting with his attempts to circumvent consensus.

Speaking of consensus, you can find the consensus to be against the user in question here.

Also, allow me to illustrate that he is continuing not for the construction of the Wiki, but to "win" an argument against who he perceives to be his "rival". He sees these arguments as an extension of the game, and I can safely infer that his whole purpose for continuing with such a broken sense of justice is that he has a vendetta.

And now, without further ado, I present the end to this childish game, in a compelling trilogy that will be available in a box set.

As you can see, he did not bother replying to this one, as it made my point very clear. It's hard to prove someone wrong when they're speaking the truth, so I can sympathise with him for skipping over this five times.

A helpful reminder for my special friend, since he seems to have forgotten something

Parties Changing Names

I am wondering about what to do when a party changes it's name. For example: the party Vatan_ve_Hurriyet_Cemiyeti has changed its name to Cumhuriyet Partisi. What is the best way to handle this situation? (1 or 2?)

1. Put a historical template on VHC and create a new page called Cumhuriyet Partisi.
2. Use "Move" to move all of the information (which isn't much) to a page called Cumhuriyet Partisi.

• My concern with #1 is that the party isn't that different. It kept the same orientation, the name just changed. So I don't know if this is the best course of action.
• My concern with #2 is that the links to the VHC (which was a big party in Turkey) will all be broken or will have a double redirect.

Exampe:Public SO Account

I had an idea when I saw [:Image:Erep.jpg] a few minutes ago.

I think we should have a public SO account for Wiki editors (Or at least the EREP:UBER) to use when taking screenshots of the game. We can have it's name set to "Example", "New User", "Citizen", et cetera, and make the password public.

This would be useful in making image-based tutorials for the wiki, so they can see which options you can use without having to edit out names, monetary accounts, or personal information.

We can make a corresponding public Wiki account to use for the same purpose, if we ever need to.

There are ways to manipulate the images with the right software. See [Politics]] and all of the other drop-down menus I did for the Playing the Game category. Country and sub pages

However, I think the Portugal pages are split very poorly. I think the country page should be a summary of EVERYTHING, while the additional pages should be details on those sections. Try to find basic information like the regions of Portugal and you need to hunt for them, however, I think there are the words to two anthems on that page.... Lincoln there are two different Anthems. One is the Portugal's Anthem and the other is the Comandos's Anthem which are different things ;). By the way if you can make the Portugal sub-article into collapse sections it would be great. Some people in Portugal were asking who deleted some sections in Portugal article. V1 and the Wiki

The whole Wiki must be updated with V1 (example: the information in Society, Economy, Politics, Military, Media will be changed completely), but the actual pages should be kept.
Template:Beta is already created (feel free to improve it if you like).

All of those pages that I worked hard to make prettier :(, will need to go to some sort of BETA section. No matter what, We will have to be VERY clear that it is legacy information from the Beta. I would think that almost all of the pages in the Category:Playing the Game will need to be modified or moved. (which is one of the reasons why I started the category to group all of that stuff together). Special Characters

What happened to all of the page names with special characters in them? All pages with umlauts, accents and "Cs with little thingies under them" (I am American, we don't use those) are now gobble-de-gook. I think this has something to do with changing servers, but it has really screwed up a lot of links and page names, for example - [Magyar Néppárt]--QJ Lincoln 06:58, 25 September 2008 (PDT)

In order the fix this issue on these pages, follow the following steps:

• move the page;
• see if there are pages that links at that page;
• fix these links so no pages are linked to the "crazy" page;
• we will delete the page after it was moved - Special:Log/move.
