The Department of Foreign Affairs (Filipino: Kagawaran ng Ugnayang Panlabas, abbreviated: DFA) is an executive department of the Philippine government that contributes to the enhancement of national security and the protection of the territorial integrity and national sovereignty, participates in the national endeavor of sustaining development and enhancing the Philippines' competitive edge, protects the rights and promotes the welfare of Filipinos overseas and mobilizes them as partners in national development, projects a positive image of the Philippines, and increases international understanding of Philippine culture for mutually-beneficial relations with other countries.

History

The Department of Foreign Affairs is founded by May & June 2009 President Big Boy Bulley on Day 502 along with the Departments of Defense, Finance and Home Affairs.
