The Department of Foreign Affairs (Filipino: Kagawaran ng Ugnayang Panlabas, abbreviated: DFA), sometimes known as Foreign Affairs Committee (FAC) or Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), is an executive department of the Philippine government that contributes to the enhancement of national security and the protection of the territorial integrity and national sovereignty, participates in the national endeavor of sustaining development and enhancing the Philippines' competitive edge, protects the rights and promotes the welfare of Filipinos overseas and mobilizes them as partners in national development, projects a positive image of the Philippines, and increases international understanding of Philippine culture for mutually-beneficial relations with other countries.

History
The Department of Foreign Affairs is founded by April, May & June 2009 President Big Boy Bulley on Day 503 along with the Departments of Defense, Finance and Home Affairs.

Asia
The ambassador program to Asia of the DFA was split by country until the posts were unified on October 6, 2012. Al Raposas was the first DFA ambassador to Asia.
