Government of Saudi Arabia
"There is no god but God; Muhammad is the messenger of God."
|
The first Congress of Saudi Arabia was inaugurated on 26 January 2011 (eDay 1163), a day after the first Congress elections in Saudi Arabia were held. Saudi Arabia was among the first three Arab states to be introduced in the New World on 19th January 2011.
Until September 2012, citizens voted for an individual candidate on a party list in a certain region. As of September 2012, citizens vote for lists of party representatives instead of individual candidates which is valid for a whole country, not a certain region.
Today, the Congressional elections take place on the 25th day of each month and the Congress is inaugurated two days later, on the 27th of each month. Although usually in the New World the top 5 parties can make nominations of Congress candidates, Saudi Arabia is a unique country in the New World - only one party system exists, so the party winner of every election is known in advance.
