Diaspora
There were many Colombian citizens in eRepublik living in different countries prior to the creation of Colombia. Most of them were in Venezuela, where they represented an important percentage of the total population. Others lived in Argentina, Chile, Mexico, Indonesia, Hungary, Brazil, Germany, Lithuania and Spain.
History
The first Colombian communities were created in Argentina and Venezuela. The Argentinian community almost disappeared, only a few players continued there, while others moved to Venezuela or became inactive. Venezuelan Colombians however, increased in number and in power, they quickly became an important part of Venezuela. From Venezuela, Colombian users went to many other countries, including USA, Canada, Brazil and Japan. By August of 2009 there were nearly 100 users who were from Colombia living in different parts of the New World. The Colombian movement started then. Users integrated in facebook and through the newspapers of other Colombian users.
Many Colombians abandoned the game after long time of waiting for their country to appear in eRepublik. The number of Colombians was decreasing, until March of 2009, when again started to grow. During April May, the number of Colombians has grown more than the 150%. Colombia is the most organized country of those that will be created in July 10th, 2009.
In April of 2009, many Colombian users went to Lithuania, were they tried to do a Take Over to see how to manage a country. The attempt was supported by Chile, Venezuela and Indonesia, some Argentinian users also helped. Mexico was the only ALA member that didn't support the TO. However, there was a group of Americans trying to do a TO as well, but this group received popular support of the Lithuanian people, from Latvia and Estonia and of ATLANTIS. In the party president election of the Lithuanian united party, Stebetojas, the candidate supported by USA won 65 against 54 votes of Aguante_Fortin, the Colombian candidate.
Some Colombians stayed in Lithuania after the TO, but most of them returned to Venezuela. Others went to Chile and different countries of the New World.
The Colombian community decided to join PEACE GC without opposition, currently they are making contacts in that alliance and many Colombians went to fight in Hungary against Romania or in Indonesia.
Colombia was the first country to officially sign the ALA charter, even before the founding members of the alliance. Colombia was introduced to the game on June 10th, 2009.
Colombia was an unipartidist state, the legal party was called Colombianos Por la Unidad (CPU) until August of 2009 when many parties were founded. Actually exist 4 parties in Colombia.
