Belarus is a landlocked country in Eastern Europe, bordered by Icon-Russia.png Russia to the northeast,Icon-Ukraine.png Ukraine to the south,Icon-Poland.png Poland to the west, and Icon-Lithuania.png Lithuania and Icon-Latvia.png Latvia to the northwest.

The Admins announced on Day 1039 of the New World that Belarus would be added to eRepublik in October [1], filling the last grey area left in Eastern Europe. A further forum thread revealed that the birth of Belarus was scheduled to happen on Day 1051 of the New World. [2]

Bieloniger

The announcement led to a great joy throughout the Rizon community, resulting in creation of the official IRC channel of Belarus - #Belarus on Rizon. Citizens gathered in there swore to move the "Add eNiger!" movement to Belarus and make it their temporary home.

Some of the Belarus citizens are the Niger Freedom movement who are fighting for the freedom of Niger from the evil occupiers Lesotho, Mali and Gabon. As the only African country today South Africa has automatically become a natural target of the Belanigerian community.

The Bieloniger group, consisting of citizens from various RL countries, like France, Poland, Germany, Spain etc., intends to leave Belarus neutral from all influences, both Phoenix and EDEN.

Later on first free Presidential elections took place with xoni as one of the candidates supported by all major Belorussian factions. xoni has won the elections, however, the future of the country was still unclear. Still, next elections showed that PTO group is no longer powerful and they were beaten easily during Congress elections. At this time country was suffering from recent changes in economy module, what affected nearly every citizen of Belarus. And though the Congress was already secured by Belorussians, a final battle was to be fought: whether next President will be from PTO group or not.

Fortunately, Presidential elections ended up with Avers II as a winner, and the reign of PTO group was over. Still, the new government showed an intolerant attitude towards Belarus polish citizens and started a campaign against any polish-speaking players. Nationalist party of Belarus together with a Communist Party of Belarus stood against such a discrimination and after several publications in press a final agreement was made: most of former PTO group members left the country, those who wanted to stay had been incorporated into society.
