Headline text
The United Netherlands was the official name of the merger between the Netherlands and Belgium that lasted for nearly a year. Belgium unofficially left the union in February 2010, however the Netherlands decided to keep the name United Netherlands (and it's abbreviation eUNL) as official name after that for another half-year until they changed it back to simply the Netherlands (eNL).
Regions
The United Netherlands had seven regions: Western Netherlands, Eastern Netherlands, Northern Netherlands, Southern Netherlands, Flanders, Brussels and Wallonia. Western Netherlands and Wallonia were the the most populated and Eastern Netherlands had the least amount of inhabitants.
Language
In real life Belgium, the Walloons speak French and the Flemish speak Dutch. The main language of the Dutch users is Dutch. Most citizens however spoke English quite well and the main language in the country was therefore English. Articles in newspapers and international messages were often written in English and sometimes accompanied by a Dutch and/or French translation. English was the official language used by the government and in congress.
History
Formation background
During the Congress elections on the 25th of March 2009, Spanish citizens who called themselves "Las tropas imperiales" won a majority of the congressional seats, effecting in a political takeover. In response to this, president CreveRoeland decided to cede all Belgian territories to the Netherlands on the 5th April 2009, forming a union and preventing a Spanish president from being elected. The unification, that had gained major support, was a success. Without many troubles, both countries were unified under one flag. However, there were also Belgians that fled the country and moved to the United Kingdom.
Economy of the United Netherlands
The currency of the United Netherlands was the Dutch Guilder or Nederlandse Gulden (NLG) and the minimum wage was set at 4 NLG while the average is around 13.82 NLG (18th February 2010). Because there were a lot of BEF (Belgian Franc) going around after the merger, the Dutch government exchanged them at a rate of 1.6 NLG/BEF.
The country always had problems with a severe shortage of employees. Although the merger with the Belgians slightly changed this, at that time around 100 extra employees were needed to fill the active companies. But this was changed after the launch of training companies by the government where all skills were trained and all companies could get enough employees.

Wars and conflicts
The United Netherlands only had a few wars on their own soil. The United Netherlands usually participate in wars as allies. The wars in the United Netherlands were the following:
The Unification Wars - Netherlands vs Belgium
There were three battles on 5th April 2009 to unite both countries into the United Netherlands:
Operation Belgian Waffle
On 23rd June 2009, American soldiers started two resistance wars in the United Netherlands to liberate Belgium from the supposed oppressors. Belgians and Dutch fought side by side against this force from outside with the help of their PEACE allies.
Two battles started by Americans
Operation Waffle
This operation was started by the Romanian group called The Group on 23rd October 2009 and was later on joined by American SEAL Team 6 and other EDEN forces. Their intention was to liberate Belgium, or at least Flanders. Their true purposes with Flanders were unknown. Flanders was liberated and Congress was largely taken by Romanians (6 against 4).
On November 5 EDEN forces started resistance wars in Brussels and Wallonia.
Heavy fighting was there. In Brussels EDEN forces just won the fight, in Wallonia the Union won the fight. Many citizens left Brussels to relocate at Wallonia. The presidential elections in Belgium were won by alex201, member of the Group not active in media at all. But the Benelux Party was second only 20 votes behind.
Other battles
On 24th June 2009, a Resistance War was started by player sikkie, a person who has been inactive for a while. The region was secured by the defenders again.
