Biography

Squibeel first started the game in August 14, 2008 as a citizen of Portugal but eventually decided to leave the country as he had become tired of the internal turbulence in Portugal and, due mostly to his weeb nature, he eventually ended up in Japan having his citizenship approved by Akki and later joining the National Alliance Party.

At the time Japan was without its issues, it wasn't composed of actual Japanese players but from players which had similar interests in Japan's culture and, despiste those similarities, different groups were formed and, like in many places, there was a power struggle but it was a peaceful struggle due to the respect all players held for each other which enabled Squibeel, in comparison to when he was in Portugal, to easily find friends and connections within the country.

Early on Squibeel could be described as a kid who wanted to help out as best he could while having fun but this would gradually change when his aspirations started getting bigger. This eventually led him to butt heads with some of the most influential people in the Japan and being labelled as a "problem child". As he gathered experience inside and outside the country, mostly in the areas related to Foreign Affairs and Defense, he finally managed to become President of Japan and, to the surprise of some, managed to have a stable presidential term.

Politics

Squibeel is currently a Congressman of Japan and a Party Member of Jinmin Sensen.

Before taking a break from eRepublik, Squibeel could be considered to have been semi-active in Japan's political landscape. Having lost 5 Presidential elections, in which 4 of them were in 2011, he was finally able to win in his 6th attempt in April 2012 thus breaking what was know in Japan as the Geno Garon's curse.

Squibeel released an article^[1] announcing his cabinet on that same day.

The biggest changes during Squibeel's Presidency was the creation of both a new Forum and a new IRC channel in the attempt to keep the community of Japan active and welcome future players. He also supported the re-organization of the Japanese Military and tried his best to keep Japan afloat at the negotiation tables with eRepublic of China (Taiwan) and by signing old and new MPPs with other countries and, thanks to some of these efforts and with the help of his cabinet, help Japan get back its Congress.

He released some articles during his Presidency to keep the community updated.
In the end, Squibeel's term as President wasn't the most successful of 2012 but he supported Japan and tried to maintain it^[2].

Japanese Conflicts

The South Korea and Japan Conflict

It's a fact that, before the conflict started by Japan to cleanse South Korea of its foreign occupiers, Squibeel was one of the citizens that helped and, thanks to his effort, prevented a real war between the two countries by helping with training maneuvers.

This made him a champion of people in both Japan and South Korea communities. He was also considered an adversary by the Romanian group who tried to control South Korea.

War eventually broke out between the two countries, and during these events, Squibeel managed to attain 43 medals and level up 4 ranks. But it still wasn't enough, and on day 1189, the great Emperor Kokawayoshi Makoto^[3] and Squibeel^[4] both launched articles announcing White Peace between both countries.

The Canada and Japan Conflict

Between August and September, Canada declared Japan as the Natural Enemy and attack Hokkaido. Squibeel, as Supreme Commander of Terra, tried to stop this conflict, not only was Japan his country but Canada was also wasting damage against a neutral country.

Squibeel warned Canada publicly^[5] and this lead to a great discontent by the officials of Canada. Due to a miscommunication inside Terra, Squibeel wasn't informed and this later lead to an apology on the very same article.

This was also viewed as a political stunt to help Aeriala win the elections in Canada.

With the help of South Korea, the war between Canada and Japan was closed. Squibeel negotiated with Alexander Auctoritas, President of USA, and was able to get an MPP between Japan and USA and give Canada one more reason not to re-open the war.

The Portugal and Japan Conflict

On Day 2073, Portugal launched an Airstrike against Japan. Squibeel used this chance to speed up the ongoing negotiations with China regarding a Training War and successfully stopped the Portuguese Airstrike in its tracks. China was able to block Portugal to just 3 regions, leaving Portugal with Kanto, Kinki and Chubu.

Squibeel had no choice but to support continuous Resistance Wars to lower the Portuguese Q6 Shield, which was awarded after the National shield tournament. This was due to the fact that Circle of Trust had not offered any support during the initial Airstrike and was refusing to help while the Shield was in place. This campaign was dubbed Operation Suzumebachi (after the Japanese Giant Hornet).

On Day 2122, Plato launched the Epic warfare tournament which left Japan hopeless facing the fact that Portugal had now the chance of recharging an almost depleted Shield. This led to the birth of the Mitsunami War, a war started by Squibeel who was influenced by Kazami Yukka and his thirst for Portuguese blood.

During the Mitsunami War, the Government of Japan was able to pull off a series of victories which friendly, allied and mercenary support. Squibeel was able to convince the Circle of Trust to support the first battle in Chubu and then the whole campaign to kick Portugal out of its Japanese territories.

After the second victory, Squibeel had already conceived a plan that would award Japan with one chance to kick Portugal for good and a fail-safe that would allow Japan a second chance. This consisted in launching a Natural Enemy proposal right after the second victory, which would catch Portugal by surprise, and at the same time launch a Resistance War in the last region. If Japan were to lose the Resistance War then they would be able to attack again via Natural Enemy but with reduced chances due to MPPs but such a need would not arise since Japan successfully won the last Resistance War and was finally able to kick out Portugal.
