Iron is one of the 5 resources that gives bonus to weapon and weapon raw material companies. If linked to the capital, it provides 10% bonus, and if it's not linked to the capital it provides 5% bonus. Even if a country owns more than one iron resource the productivity increase will be limited to 10%.
