Ireland (pronounced [ˈaɪɾlənd]; Irish: Éire [ˈeːɾʲə]; Ulster Scots: Airlann) is an island country located in the northwest of Europe. It is composed of six regions and borders three other nations (UK, Canada and the USA). As Ireland has a small population, its geographic location has been exploited to create a strong defensive position. Ireland is a former member of EDEN, an alliance that featured many of Ireland's historical allies.
Despite Ireland's size, it has maintained a strong community with diverse views and politics. Ireland has generally healthy elections and is active economically, militarily, and in the media.

Community
Ireland is not only home to the Irish, but also to residents from a wide variety of distinct origins. Ireland welcomes individuals from all backgrounds, but the majority of its citizen are nonetheless Irish in real life. Prominent expatriate groups include Americans, Bulgarians, Canadians, Greek and Croatians. While Ireland seeks to reflect, preserve, and take pride in its traditional culture and history, it welcomes the existence of a cultural mosaic amongst its many diverse and talented citizens.
Ireland is a country with a relatively small population. When compared to the rest of the world Ireland generally stays virtually parallel to world population trends. Many of the significant population jumps and falls are related to the addition or subtraction of national territories through military conflicts and/or to the arrival of a previously formed group from another country.

30px Media
The vast majority of Irish media is written in English. Achieving Media Mogul achievements is a difficult task in Ireland as the population is relatively low. Many citizens have their own papers to publish articles in. The Irish government's organizations are also regular contributors to the media. Much of Ireland's media includes articles about the political situation of the country, but the vast majority of the media articles are about social and entertainment and helps to create a rich social environment in the country.

Currency
The currency of Ireland is the Irish Pound (IEP)
Ireland's very low minimum wage was instituted to accommodate communes that wished to pay workers in the supplies rather than wages. This low wage has no foreseeable affect on capitalist industry as the average wages in Ireland are reliably much higher than any reasonable minimum wage.
