This is an overview of the US [[Congress elections|Congressional elections]] held in 2009.

Due to a huge number of political parties in the USA and because only the top five parties can run candidates in the Congressional elections, parties outside of the top five run candidates on another party's list thus did not receive any votes for their party as such. "Their votes" are counted towards the party's ticket upon which their candidate ran.

"Their votes" are counted towards the party's ticket upon which candidate ran. It is possible that not all of these candidates are listed.

The tables are created in the way that the party with more won seats is listed first, even if there are parties with more votes behind. In the case of the same number of won seats, the number of votes matters and in the case of the same number of won seats and votes, alphabetical order is the determinator of how the party are listed.

This is an overview of the US Congressional elections held in 2009.

Due to a huge number of political parties in the USA and because only the top five parties can run candidates in the Congressional elections, parties outside of the top five run candidates on another party's ticket and thus did not receive any votes for their party as such.
