Conflict between USA and Croatia in February 2018 was started by American airstrike on Croatian colonies in Thailand. The airstrike didn't land; however USA lost all of its anti-Asteria MPPs. Croatia launched a counteroffensive right away and it managed to land in Kentucky. As a result, Latvia and Sweden launched airstrikes on Croatia: Latvia landed in Thailand, which wasn't defended, but Sweden failed to land. Croatia was able to conquer two more regions before three more Pacifica countries airstriked Croatian regions in USA ( Poland, Colombia and Finland) all of which landed, despite Croatian efforts to focus on Finnish attack only. As Serbia wiped Croatia in Balkans, the attack on USA was interrupted as Croatia had lost all of its regions.
This was one of the rare major wars since 2014 not to directly involve Asteria.

War aftermath
Change of Pacifica's foreign policy
Since Poland and Hungary joined Pacifica in April 2016, the alliance mostly followed the path of neutrality between Asteria and Syndicate through the year. In early 2017 Syndicate was dissolved, and Pacifica countries were divided into two blocks: pro-Asteria (led by Poland) and anti-Asteria (led by Hungary). By the end of the year, Hungary, USA, Latvia, Sweden and Mexico had no Asteria MPPs, while they had kept several ex-Syndicate MPPs (Argentina, Chile, Greece, Turkey, etc). By attacking Croatia, who shared the same MPPs, they were dropped. Moreover, Finland and Bulgaria signed an MPP due to Bulgarian support in Finnish airstrike.
Expulsion of Hungary from Pacifica
After the war was ended, TheJuliusCaesar (Finnish MoFA and a former Secretary General of Pacifica) published an article Hungary, Pacifica and the irreconcilable rift in which he wrote about Pacifica's foreign policy and Hungarian place in it. Due to Hungary unofficially supporting Croatia in the war, the in-game law to expel Hungary from Pacifica was started; on February 8, 2018, Hungary was out of the alliance.[3]
Asteria and pro-Asteria stance
Asteria and pro-Asteria countries such as Bulgaria didn't have MPPs with either side of the initial USA–Croatia conflict and were hence neutral, possibly only fighting for bigger CO. Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) supported Croatia due to holding grudge against USA. As pro-Asteria members of Pacifica got involved, Asteria gave their support to Poland, Finland and Colombia.
