Military and Alliances
Latvia initially decided to become neutral and not join any alliances. This was one of the reasons for the First Finland-Latvia war of June and July 2009. Although Finns initially took over 2 Latvian regions (Zemgale and Latgale), they gave Latgale back as "a friendly gesture". Latvia then joined PEACE and with their help regained Zemgale.
In October 2009 Latvia attacked Finland after a landswap with Estonia. Although Latvia initially gained control of Southern Finland, it was reconquered a few days later and no battles have started ever since.
