The early months may as well be known as eNorway's Dark Ages, as very little documentary evidence remains from those early days. We know little about the first settlers, who they were and where they came from. All we know is that it did not take long for the country to become a world power.

2008 saw the rapid rise of Norway to become one of the preeminent world powers through quick conquest of Finland and Russia. Once completed the country then had to adapt to the booming populations now under its control.

[[inunova]] becomes the first Finnish member of the Norwegian congress. It is decided (with many dissenters, including [[kir]]) that the official language of Norway should be changed to English so that everyone, no matter what their background, can participate in discussions.

Having unsuccessfully tries to bribe his way to become president [[kartal61]], believed to be from [[Iran]], attempts to impeach [[Salve]]. After this fails he quits [[Congress]] and moves to [[France]].

[[kartal61]] returns, vying for presidency of the United eNorway Party. Despite the media frenzy denouncing him as a 'villain' he is elected president of the party.

[[Salve]] convinces the Romanians to leave [[Russia]] independent with one region: [[Volga Vyatka]]. Romanian troops start a [[resistance war]] in [[Northern Russia]], so they can bypass Volga Vyatka. However, this act was not approved by any member of the Norwegian government (despite what the Romanian media say [http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/checkmate-official-analysis-of-the-russian-war-1-718670/1]). It is clear Norway has lost all independent control over the fate of Russia and its remaining Russian territories.

Now with its empire dissolving, and not always at the rate it had wished for, in 2009 Norway had to balance the needs of its own people and the needs of the alliances around it, even if these two aims were not compatible. Meanwhile its government was in constant danger from [[PTO]] groups looking to disrupt the slowly disintegrating empire.

In it he promises to return [[Congress]] to Norwegian control but only in return for all of Russia's original regions, and a security deposit of 1000 Gold to be returned in February 2010.

She upholds the continued Norwegian occupation of [[Kaliningrad]], [[Eastern Siberia]] and [[Volga]] but surrenders all other regions to [[Russia]] in return for control of [[Congress]] and a joint security payment to be returned in May 2009.

Russian members in Congress begin to propose and pass damaging laws; such as raising the minimum wage to 35 NOK, or this one donating funds to an Iranian organisation. [http://www.erepublik.com/en/Norway/law/2688]

Any misgivings Norway had over co-operating with [[Romania]] with the dismemberment of [[Russia]], (or rather turning a blind eye to it), is put to one side as [[Iran]], [[Indonesia]] and [[Hungary]] continue to advance through Asia. This is done without congress's permission, but [[KristofferAG]] later explains this as a way [[Romania]] can regain the advantage over [[Iran]] and [[Indonesia]], and as a result they make good progress through occupied Chinese regions. [[Urals]] passes into [[Romania]]'s control to prevent 2 PTO congressmen being voted in.

[[Independent Norway]] is the largest party in [[Congress]]. It is led by [[Marginaldefeat]], a Hungarian dedicated, in his words, to make Norway free of Romanian influence and control. [[Big Brother]] is fired from his position as MoD. As the owner of Norway's largest Q5 weapons company he was accused of using government funds to run his private company at the expense of the government run Q5 operation. [[Iron]] prices had been rising steadily with Norway's supplies in [[Urals]] unable to stay competitive. As a result company costs were becoming unsustainable. There were also accusations that government bought weapons were being donated to non-Norwegian mercenaries. [[KristofferAG]] bowed to pressure to relieve him of his post. The resulting fallout in [[Congress]] reveal the deep splits and animosity between the parties.

[[KristofferAG]] is impeached after reports of abuse. By his own admission he had handed presidential powers to [[reboot]] and employed a 'sitter' to work and train for him. Importantly however it prevents any further impeachment for the next 7 days.

The reasoning behind the attack is to rally a fractured [[EDEN]] for the inevitable retaliation, the reality is that they have activated 21 MPPs against them and EDEN has other worries.

The presidential elections show early signs of fraud as the unknown candidate [[Seko38]] pushes into the lead. [[Tommy Skaue]] arranges a last minute removal of funds from the country accounts to prevent stealing.

While the impeachment is proceeding, [[Seko38]] attacks, and retreats from, core regions of [[UK]] and [[Russia]]. This opens the full weight of the [[Phoenix]] alliance against Norway. A later attack against a core region of [[Sweden]] robs Norway of most of its [[EDEN]] allies due to the 'friend of a friend' cancellation clause. Only [[Spain]] remains.

[[Bob Turkee]] of [[Binary Party]] becomes [[President]] of Norway following the successful impeachment of [[Seko38]].

[[Vestlandet]] and [[Sorlandet]] both fall to [[UK]]. UK, under [[Operation Valhalla]], attempts to turn Vestlandet into a fortress, building a Q5 hospital and encouraging its citizens to move there. [[Russia]] conquers [[Nord-Norge]] and begins the battle for [[Trondelag]]. [[Sweden]] finished with its distraction battle with [[Denmark]] conquers [[Ostlandet]] to prevent it falling into the hands of UK or Russia.

Admin intervene in the situation. They close all open wars between Norway, [[UK]], [[Russia]] and [[Sweden]], returning all conquered territory back to Norway. The UK built Q5 hospital in [[Vestlandet]] is passed, intact, into Norwegian hands. Many UK citizens are left trapped in hostile territory, including their president [[GLaDOS]].

[[UK]] attacks [[Sorlandet]] but is repulsed easily.

The [[Justice And Development party]] and the [[Vikings Party]], both havens for PTOers, are taken over by loyal Norwegians and renamed [[Xenibalurd Party]] and [[Radikal Samling]] respectively.

During a day of massive must win battles for [[EDEN]] and [[Phoenix]], [[Nordjylland]] is lost to [[UK]] as Norwegian troops are ordered to concentrate on the Chinese attack on Serbian [[Liaoning]] and the Croatian attack on [[Serbia]]. Allied Spanish troops are meanwhile busy (and unsuccessfully) defending [[Rhone Alps]] and [[Aquitaine]] from [[Hungary]] and [[France]]. Poland meanwhile stops another round of [[UK]] and resistance war attacks in [[Sorlandet]].

Another German started resistance war in [[Scania]] is put down.

[[Nordjylland]] returns to Norwegian occupation.

In a repeat of April's ill-fated presidential election, and showing exactly the same suspicious voting patterns, [[Cl4trap]] (believed to be a Russian agent) is elected president [http://www.erep.cc/elections/president?d=201007&country=37]. Fortunately however, due to the upcoming migration to V2 to he is unable to take advantage of the situation.

In an act of willful nihilism [[Mr. Gordon Gekko]] launches an war of conquest against Sweden. The Swedish president, in collusion with Mr. Gordon Gekko, retreats all battles and by dawn Norway has conquered almost all of its neighbour and is in control of [[Svealand]], [[Norrland and Sameland]], [[Jamtland Harjedalen]], [[Bohus]], [[Gotaland]] and [[Gotland]]. This action wipes out Norway's MMPs however. [[UK]] is quick to take advantage and invades [[Vestlandet]]. The battle is retreated, (presumably) to keep up the momentum with Sweden.

[[Mr. Gordon Gekko]] is impeached, as is the Swedish president [[Per-Otto]]. In the ensuing chaos [[Cl4trap]] sneaks back into the presidential suite and launches the bewildered Norwegian army against [[Scotland]], [[Nord-Norge]] and [[Northern Russia]]. Nord-Norge is reoccupied but the other attacks open the full weight of the [[Phoenix]] alliance against Norway.

[[Cl4trap]] is removed from power. With no official elected president [[Freke]] is installed as interim president by common consent.

[[Svalbard & Jan Mayen]], Norway's sole remaining region is not attacked by UK. It is believed they wish Norway to remain intact to keep all of its activated MPPs, making it much more difficult to break out of the [[Phoenix]] cordon.

[[Cl4trap]] is impeached. [[Freke]] becomes president.

[[Canada]] conquers [[Vestlandet]], part, and indeed the main objective, of its [[Canada-UK War|Operation Single Malt]] against [[UK]]. [[Nord-Norge]] is liberated from [[UK]] control through a resistance war removing them from Scandinavia. [[Finland]] invades the region straight away - the order not to obstruct Finland's advance is given by government.

The recently signed treaty is activated. [[Finland]] conquers [[Svalbard & Jan Mayen]]. For the second time in its history Norway is completely wiped out. This action clears Norway of all wars and MPPS stacked against it. It also destroys all of the political parties.

In the end Norway's 2nd party [[Frihet]] is created by the Polish ambassador [[plasmakp]]. In what is seen as a PTO threat he puts himself forward as presidential candidate. [[Arthur Olavsson]] has not yet been chosen by [[Norsk Samling]] and its president [[Siri1949]] is nowhere to be seen. The only solution, it appears, is for [[Tommy Skaue]], as Minister of Finance, to use government funds to create a 3rd party [[Republicans of Norway]].
