Food increases citizen's energy. Like all products, it can be purchased at the Marketplace. Food is consumed automatically when energy can be recovered.

How food is consumed?

Based on your energy recovery rate, your recoverable energy will be automatically converted into energy provided you have the required food in your inventory. Automatic recovery stops when you do not have enough food in your inventory or when your energy pool is full. Automatic recovery is always trying to minimize food waste. It will start by consuming the highest quality food in your storage. If the highest quality food will "waste" your energy rise, instead of the highest quality food the next highest food unit will be consumed and so on. If food waste has to occur it will occur when the best ratio of food spent/energy gained/energy loss is achieved.

Example 1
Citizen needs to recover 23 energy and has Q4 and Q1 food;
Automatic system will recover energy by consuming 3 Q4 units (23 recovered, 1 wasted, 3 items used).
Example 2
Citizen needs to recover 20 energy and has Q4 and Q1 food;
Automatic system will recover energy by consuming 2 Q4 and 2 Q2 units (20 recovered, 0 wasted, 4 items used).
