The Kingdom of England (formerly known as the UK) is a medium sized country in Western Europe. With ten regions bordering a number of other nations, these numerous borders has made the Kingdom a key tactical crossroads which was frequently fought over during world wars for the ocean crossings between North America, Western Europe and Scandinavia.
The UK recently (November 2011) found itself a target for it's resources and was defeated, divided up and occupied by Canada, Ireland and France.
After 3 months of occupation the then CP of the United Kingdom surrendered Scotland and N.Ireland to Ireland in return for peace. The loss of 2 of its constituent Kingdoms leading to the reversion of the nations name to the Kingdom of England, in-line with the excessive roleplay established by its older citizens.
The new polity was able to secure a congress but an unfortunate decision to open-up the war with France again has meant that the Kingdom is still under occupation by France and Canada.
The succeding Kingdom has found itself rather unchanged domestically with its ageing population that dominate the leadership of the nation remaining in place along with all the accroutements and byzantine rules they established in the UK.
The Kingdom has a retained its recently re-introduced national army although it offers a relatively small military capability and like its predecessor it relies on diplomacy and mutual protection pacts for its defence, using the influence of the few elder citizens that often take leading roles in alliance headquarters to persude its current alliance ONE to send it aid.
Society
Communication
The community offers several forums and IRC channels for eUK users. The traditional forum houses the government and 4 of the top 5 politcal parties and their associated MU's. The Rizon IRC network has channels for all Political parties, Military Units and other miscellaneous channels made by members of the community.
The national channels and forums have a strict moderation policy, any criticism of the moderators, the CP or other prominent figures may result in a ban.

The community also produces a wide range of articles; from election manifestos and guides, to flame wars and fun articles (UK National Media).
The National Newspaper Association, provides a monthly round-up of government and political news as well as quality or interesting popular articles.
History
The Kingdom of England came into being on day 1586 of the new world (March 24th 2012) with the signing over of Scotland and N.Ireland to the Republic of Ireland by UK president Talon Karrde (TUP), Jamesw & Mittekemuis (ESO) and Greatmoff [1].
Assuming the UK's place in the ONE alliance the nation was able to hold its first congress elections and briefly able to end French occupation of its lands and even advance into Northern France. Within 2 weeks however it has been wiped from the map again by France and Canada.
Geography
The Kingdom of England is currently under attack and occupation by Canada and France and its geographical integrity changes daily.

Politics
Like many other countries, the older members of the UK community renamed the generic institutions of eRepublik as far as possible, such as Congress and the President, to assign a cultural flavour to them and an element of uniqueness. The elected members of Congress are commonly called Members of Parliament (MP) and make up the national forum based House of Commons, while the President is commonly referred to as the Prime Minister.
This peculiarity has carried through to the Kingdom of England although it is not embraced by all the top 5 parties.
Country President
The President of the United Kingdom is the head of the Kingdom of England's Government, The traditional parties operate a policy of patrimony and therefore the elected CP appoints and manages a number of 'ministries' that perform various in-game and community functions.
The current Prime Minister is Talon Karrde of the The Unity Party.
Congress
The UK usually had 40 Congress seats, although this could vary considerably during times of war. The December, January and Febuary and terms went by without elections due to invasion.
The Kingdom of England has yet to hold a congress election across all of its potentential regions. The elections in March saw a heavy proportion of votes being cast in the traditional capital of London.
On the 'Traditional' forums the congress or 'House of Commons' may vote on various legislation. Legislation comprises of proposals written up and enforced entirely within that forums community and are not part of the in-game mechanics, legislation covers such things as constitutional issues, government structure, government procedure and any schemes or projects that might draw significant public funds.

Military
Armed Forces
The military has ungone many recent changes and is currently being reformed after its disbandment under Thomas765 (TUP). The new national army consists of one Military Unit operating on a commune system where all troops are supplied with the goods they produce. They fall under the command of the Prime Minister and the Minister of Defence. The army fights at home or abroad in order to defend the nation and her ONE allies.
The National Army currently recruit any citizen able to fight and are willing to travel, regardless of strength or rank. Higher skill players receive higher quality and quantity of supplies to maximize damage.
Alliances
The UK joined ONE in December as a full member nation of the alliance, having been pro-ONE for most of the year. The Kingdom of England has assumed the UK's place within the alliance

Tax
The tax system encourages maximum productivity in the companies which supply it to lower prices, increase exports and raise tax revenue. Products which the nation can produce at optimal productivity have a low local tax and high import tax, while products which the nation cannot produce with high productivity have a high local tax and low import tax.

Trade
The Government occasionally blocks trade with enemy nations. Due to poor diplomatic relations, frequent targets include 
Ireland and 
USA. In June 2011, Greece and Croatia were both embargoed by Jamesw, following their support of Ireland during the UK's invasion.
