The first Congressional [[Elections]] were on February 25, 2009. The only Serbian party - Patriotska Stranka Srbije won 55% of Congress, and Croatian party - Stranka Stamenih Hrvata won 45% of Congress. After few weeks some Congress members from PSS left, and Stranka Stamenih Hrvata got majority in Congress. After that, Serbia lost 5 regions in war against Croatia. At next Congress elections on 15th March 2009 PSS got 100% of Congress. Because of conquering by Bulgaria in a war this party is now in Bulgaria, but all Congress members are still in Serbia. A new party was created called Spasimo eSrbiju that won 100% of Congress on elections on 25th April 2009. One day before the May elections, president of Spasimo eSrbiju party, Vladimir_Kezic got hacked. The candidate list was changed with some foreign players (which were later proved to be Croats), and since that was the only party that had congress candidates, the Martians, as they were called, won majority of Congress. After TO by Martians, on elections in June when SeS party and SKS party teamed up, Serbs got back 100% of their Congress.

Serbia is one of the strongest countries in the New World. Serbia borders Icon-Hungary.png Hungary, Icon-Romania.png Romania, Icon-Greece.png Greece, Icon-Croatia.png Croatia, Icon-Bulgaria.png Bulgaria, Icon-Albania.png Albania, Icon-Bosnia and Herzegovina.png Bosnia and Herzegovina.

On the 11th of February 2009, Serbia became the 50th country to be added to the New World. For years Serbia has had one of the highest active populations in the New World.

Serbia is the founding member of Asteria alliance.

Before the introduction

In the Beta version, the Serbian community was concentrated in Greece due to real life bonds between Serbia and Greece. After a short time of living in Greece, Serbs realized that the only way to get their country is to takeover another country, like what Croats have done in South Africa. Since Serbs had been considering Greece an ally, they had decided to move to Austria and begin a TO. After Serbs took over Austria by winning the presidential elections with 66% of the votes, admins announced new countries which were about to join eRepublik. One of them was Serbia.

The takeover and the fall

A political takeover threat had come after Serbia was added to the game. The PTO has been well organized by some Croatian players and the whole action has been called Days of wrath. The results were: a Serbian minority in the Serbian congress and a Croat as president of Serbia. He declared war on Croatia soon after Serbia had lost the game protection. After the new congress members were elected, the Serbian congress had impeached BorKan. The results of the Croatian PTO were devastating and Serbia had only 2 regions under her control. With help from allies, Serbian president Lipec, has organized an operation called The Brave Tailor.

Liberation and counterattack

The biggest problem was the open war with Croatia. At the beginning of The Brave Tailor, Bulgaria occupied the rest of Serbia with the goal to close the war with Croatia. The regions which had been occupied by Bulgaria were liberated afterwards by resistance wars. Meanwhile, Serbia got a baby boom. Before the operation even started, Serbia was under attack by Martians, multi-accounts whose exact origin nobody knew, but it was assumed that most of them came from Croatia. The Martians took over congress completely and passed damaging laws. With great help from allies, Serbia was liberated from the Croatian occupation.

Serbia is a parliamentary republic. The president is both the head of state and the government.

Serbia has the highest number of political parties in the game, 58 (before it was as high as 77). Top 5 parties can be seen in the table under statistics section.

Foreign affairs of Serbia

At the beginning of its history, Serbia was a member of PEACE GC, but with the dissolution of the alliance, Serbia joined the newly-formed Phoenix. After Phoenix was dissolved, Serbia and Hungary formed ONE together with Poland and Spain, who were enemies of Serbia before. ONE was dissolved after a time, and Poland and Spain joined CTRL, together with the USA and Brazil. CTRL was dissolved mostly because of Polish and Spanish friendship with Serbia and Hungary. After a short time, a new alliance was formed, called TWO (The World is Ours) whose member was Serbia. After the breakdown of TWO, Serbia formed a new alliance, Asteria.
