Currency rates
Since December 31, 2007, Banca Nationala a Romaniei (National Bank of Romania) has been regulating the monetary market of Romania to ensure the stability of the exchange rates. Because the high number of monetary speculators and the monetary attacks during wars, the role of the National Bank of Romania is a very important one. Each month, the minister of economy, who leads the National Bank, is chosen by the president.

This article describes some of the major events in Romanian history.
History of Romania
Romania - Republic of Moldova Union
Because of the newly added war module the Moldavian and Romanian presidents, Pan Halippa and Titu Maiorescu, launched referendums in both countries for the union of Romania and Republic of Moldova. After the referendums [2][3] in which the majority of voters agreed with the union, the nation of Republic of Moldova became part of Romania through a war on April 4, 2008. This was the only official union based on a contract ever made in eRepublik[4][5][6].
Romania - Ukraine War
During his first term as president of Romania, Alex Craciun from the eUniunea Gamerilor Democrati party, declared war to Ukraine. The official reason for this war was that Romania wanted some historical regions from Ukraine. Because of the much smaller population Ukraine and its ally Turkey resisted only a few days, from May 14 till May 17. Also, at that time was founded one of the most famous, respected and feared corps of the Romanian army, FAR - Romanian Air Force.June - July 2008
During this time, Romania took part as an ally of Greece in the First Balkan War. Other major event was Romania's decision to cancel its MPP with Hungary which lead to the deterioration of Romania's and Hungary's diplomatic relations. This period was a very politically active one. Other notable event was the political takeover led by Victor Petrescu in Ireland.
World War I
World War I started after Romania's president Alex Craciun declared war on Hungary. Romania's declaration came two days after the formation of the PEACE GC and was declared before many PEACE protection pacts with Hungary became active. After 5 days of hard battles, on September 3, Romania conquered all of Slovakia and almost all of Hungary including the former capital and biggest city in Hungary, Budapest. World War I was stopped by the Admin because of the bugs in the war module until the launch of V1.
September 2008 - December 2008, V1
Due to the huge amount of Hungarian citizens in Romania the month of September is known for the high amount of Hungarian articles in the Romanian media and for the creation of the Hungarian eRMDP-PDMeR party. After the launch of the V1 and the new war module Romania conquered another Hungarian region - Southern Transdanubia. However, due to changes in both leaders of the countries, peace talks were held until January 2009.
Romania - Russia War
In his fourth term as a president Alex Craciun on December 12, 2008 asked the congress to declare war on Russia. The first battle occurred on December 27, 2008 and that was battle for Moscow and Central Russia which Romania won against Russia and other 6 members of PEACE. After 10 days since the first battle, on January 6, 2009 Romania made the final assault and conquers all remaining Russia regions - Central Black Earth, Volga Vyatka and Western Siberia. This was done by a political takeover, lic_ptg becoming president of Russia with the help of the Romanian army. He retreated in all the regions which were attacked by Romania. The result of the war was - Russia conquered. Due to this success Romania get the most valuable regions in eRepublik which will help building the economy and preparing the next campaign in Asia.
The campaign in Asia
dsalageanu declared war on Iran on the 2nd of February. However the long-awaited war is interrupted by the region swapping between Iran, Indonesia and Pakistan. So on March 3, 2009 Romania declared war on Indonesia. Indonesia attacked Romanian conquered territories in Russia, conquering the Western Siberia and Northern Russia with the help of the Hungarian attacks on Romania. Romania looses Southern Great Plain and Southern Transdanubia after 7 months of Romanian occupation.
On March 19th, in an agreed staged war, Norway surrendered the Urals to Romania, allowing it to launch a counterattack on Indonesian forces and gaining control on Western Siberia. Over the next month Romania moved deep into Asia continuing their march to Karnataka a high iron region belonging to Indonesia, at the time the only high-iron region owned by PEACE, besides that of Brazil. Using the puppet-state of Pakistan (led by Han Solo, after the Romanian political takeover - Operation Great Justice) Romania quickly took control of most of China, before pushing westwards into Pakistan. At the high point of the war, the Romanian empire had over 40 regions and had reached the south coast of India.
But when the Romanian army reached the last region that separates it from Karnataka (Tamil Nadu), Indonesia makes a RW and India regains Karnataka. As the declaration of war would be expensive, Romania made an agreement with India, Romania attacking India in exchange for some regions and a Q5 hospital. India agree, but the delay of 24 hours was enough to Hungary to attack Romania, so Indonesia took the initiative and changed the war course. In the last days of March, Romania hands the Ukrainian region Volhynia to Poland and thus involving her in the Romanian - Hungarian war. In April Romania swaps a couple of times Northern Hungary so that Hungary could not regain it. But on April 5 Hungary takes back Northern Hungary from Poland. Romania grants Western Siberia to Norway and Norway gives a couple of its Russian regions to Finland just minutes before the Hungarians made a PTO in Norway. At the end of April, Indonesia, China, Russia and Iran continue to attack Romania. On April 30 South Africa enters the war by attacking Indonesia which will be regretted later.
On may 13, 2009 starts the battle of Podolia and after a few hours the battle of Western Siberia, the most contested and rich region in the world. In the battle participated almost all ATLANTIS and PEACE armies, battle in which Indonesia is penalized because of a bug that adds almost 200,000 wall knocked down[7], which causes Romania to enter a non-combat mode, and demand a more thorough investigation and a higher penalty. This was the day eRepublik was unofficially declared dead. On may 15 Romania looses Western Siberia to Indonesia and Podolia to Hungary. This controversial end of the war was the end of the Romanian Empire[8].
ONE invasion of Romania and annexions
Hungary and Poland declare war to Romania and conquered the country after shorts fights.Hungary taken the Transilvania, Crisana, Oltenia and Banat. Poland take Moldova, Muntenia, Dobrogea and Bucovina. Also the two countries were ally in her wars. Banat started a resistance war and win.
